  1. Bioavailability of a drug is higher when given per rectum because it is not subject to first pass metabolism (except for the superior veins of the rectum). So yes, dosage must be adjusted.
  2. Hi graceface, Last year, everybody graduating from the ETP program (and who was already accepted into the NA specialty) found an ICU job in time to go back within one year (and several in NYC). However, many chose to take two years off to have more experience. The program lets you take up to two years off and keeps your seat. Sorry I can't PM you because I haven't posted enough messages. Hope it helps!
  3. Hi school24, I applied to other BSN programs but no other combined BSN/MS Anesthesia programs because I didn't get my application together on time or didn't have time to do all the prereqs. On this thread, cu2140 and A1551 give excellent info about the ETP program itself. I can't really tell you about the MS program since I haven't started yet. 10 people got admitted in the ETP/Anesthesia track. There are a total of about 150 students in the ETP program. In terms of admission criteria, I think that the school looks at the application in general, including the personal statement.
  4. I had my response last year on Feb 11th. I received an email notification with a link that pops up with the admission letter. Good luck to everyone, I know the wait is excruciating!
  5. Hi Beth_NP? I have been accepted to the Anesthesia track and I also live in NYC (midtown)... Let me know if you want to meet up, it would be great to know someone before the program starts :) My email is [email protected].
  6. I got admitted to the Anesthesia track!!!! I could not believe it!!! Congratulations everyone!
  7. Thanks ooooladoula for emailing the admission office. There is a chance their office is closed today... My office in midtown is closed for the day because of the bad weather .
  8. I am joining this forum since I am also going out of my mind waiting... Thank you everyone, I find it helpful to know that I am not alone in my misery! I applied to the anesthesia program... so chances are very slim! Good luck everyone!
  9. Congratulations NickSBU! I will probably not live on campus as they do not accept pets and I have 2 cats... So I will look for apartments in the area. I have no idea whether other people will live on campus or not.
  10. Hi everyone, I would like to discuss with other students admitted into the Stony Brook accelerated BSN, starting summer 2010. I am curious to meet my future classmates!
  11. Hi dfgo! Congrats! We may be classmates soon :)
  12. Hi Nwankwoa, Since you were wondering about timing... I have just received my letter of admission today (One year accelerated BSN). I wanted to ask students currently enrolled in the program... What do you think about it? Thanks!
