Best Nursing Salary with the Lowest Cost of Living
So, I really couldn't find any information on this topic. I would be interested to know where you get the most bang for your buck on a Nurses salary. On Long Island, RN's make around $74,000 but rent for a one bedroom apartment in a complex can be $1400. Please respond. :redbeathe

Stony Brook BSN - Summer/Fall 2011 Applicants
1. when do we hear back? i heard back in january. it seems like they did rounds for sounding out letters. most of my friends didn't hear until march/april and one of my friends got in the day the program started. 2. will i not get accepted if i'm not taking anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 until next semester (not because all prereqs are required... because i know they let you have 2 prereqs slide, but because these are, well, important prereq) i truthfully don't know this answer, i did have ap 1 & 2 but didn't have chemistry and got in. i think it depends if you are a strong candidate. 3. will i be rejected with an undergraduate gpa of 3.22?this depends as well, do you have any have a strong resume with activities on it? for my first degree my gpa was 3.33. for my prereq science courses i have a 4.0. 4. the summer from looking back is not so bad. for me, it was monday - thursday class, which was i believe from 8 - 3 or 4ish and a clinical day on friday; most ppl will have their clinical though on the weekends. the fall is totally different from the summer there is a lot more studying and paper work. in the fall you take, ob, peds, psych, pathology, pharmacology, research. ob and peds are split the first 6 weeks you will be in one and then switch. pharm and path don't start until mid-november. psych was a challenging course because of the amount of paperwork that you need to do. i had class, monday, wednesday and friday and clinicals on tuesday and thursday. 5. clinicals are 12 hours with the exception of psych which is 8 hours. 6. studying takes up most of your free time, but if you plan well you will still be able to have fun, maybe not in the same capacity as you did before the program but you will still be able to do this. studying also depends on the type of person you are, i study a lot whereas my friend doesn't have to study a lot!

Hi- Quick Question.. Since the WCC is not accredited by the CCNE or the NLNAC does this mean that I will have a hard time getting into a Master's program to become a NP or will I have a hard time finding a job? Please let me know. Thanks!
