Hello,
I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)
Figures they would wait until the 1st of July. They do it intentionally in my opinion so that people only have 1 day to call them up and vent their fustrations out before they go on the 4th of July break. At that point, a week later after the instructors return on monday, the tornado will already done it's damage and they can say "we are sorry, there's always next semester"
Highwaygirl, I found out that most of the BSN class requirements are waived if you have a previous degree (BA). I was secretly hoping she would tell me if I made it or the average GPA this semester. Man! I was really hoping they would tell us at least by Friday so we would have the weekend to celebrate.
I don't know anything about the clinical locations I wish that I did.
I decided to get crafty and checked the Fall schedule on MySPC for the clinical sites listed for Nursing II, III, and IV:
Nursing II - Morton Plant Mease Countryside and Morton Plant Mease Clearwater
Nursing III - TBA, Bay Pines Medical Center, St. Petersburg General, St. Joseph's, St. Anthony's
Nursing IV - Morton Plant Mease Countryside, Morton Plant Mease Clearwater, Morton Plant Mease Dunedin, St. Petersburg General
Not that this means anything specific for Nursing I clinical sites, but I thought it was interesting to see where the school has partnerships.
Hi everyone! I am new to this site and am also desperately waiting for tomorrow's emails. I saw that some one posted about vaccines. How do I find out the testing and blood work that the nursing program requires? I would like to get the background screening, fingerprinting and medical stuff out of the way as soon as possible. Does anyone know if we will have a nursing orientation to give us all this info? Thanks!
Just want to let you know the clinical sites for Level 1 are generally not the same as the other levels. Level 1 focuses on assessment and basic nursing skills, so generally its the rehab centers level 1 gets stuck with. Schedule to pick from are as follows: Northside, St Anthonys Rehab, HealthSouth Rehab, Morton Plant Rehab. Night classes have the additional option of Baypines VA rehab. Good luck everyone! I just graduated and SPC has a wonderful program that prepares you well for the NCLEX!!

Grrr. I guess I'll distract myself by trying to learn/figure out Evernote.
Anything else interesting come out of your visit to the counselor?
Edited to add: Does anyone have any info about where the clinical sites for Nursing I might be?
