St pete college fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)

Accepted!!! Now to work on this long TO DO list.

Congrats everybody!

Slightly reminiscent of last year, in which i constantly checked my email 'til 5pm, only to get a denial/wait list email.... Congrats to all of you. anyone apply for lpn-rn or pm-rn?

Does anyone know where they are going for CPR certification?

I'm probably going to take the infant/child CPR class through Morton Plant - my mom is actually one of the instructors; she's going to make sure it fulfills the BLS requirements of the American Heart Association before I sign up. I think the class through Morton Plant costs $25.

A frequent place that is mentioned on this site is www.cprbuddy.com. Their BLS classes cost $60.

Congrats to everyone! I hope the alternates get good news soon.

Thanks for the info, Highwaygirl! How convenient that your mom is an instructor.

Congratulations to all who were accepted!! I am currently number nine on the alternate list, what do you think the chances of getting in are? Does anyone know how many alternates there are? Still praying!!

I know two people who are alternates, one for the LPN bridge program and one for the straight ADN program. I don't know where they are on those lists, though.

Did your email say anything about how many people were admitted and what the average GPA was?

Jennifer there are 40 alternates. I am number 16 and was told there's a good chance of getting in. They usually make it to between 20-30 on the list. Crossing my fingers!

Highway girl,

The average GPA of the admitted students was 3.84 with an average of 29.9 of the 30 credits complete.

Thanks for the info! does the cpr class need to be done before the 15th? and if others are going to take it maybe we can all register for the same class?

I think only the notice of intent, drug and background screening are due the 15th. I called SPC and registered for their CPR class on the 12th of July ($45).

I think you are correct. What # did you call to register for CPR @ SPC?
