Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

i received my acceptance letter in the mail today as well! :D

did anyone received a Vivian scholarship offer or any other scholarship offer with their acceptance packet?

also, I turned in my scholarship application before i got my acceptance packet... but then i looked at the instructions for the statement, and it says that we should list our nursing aspirations.. but the application online did not say that... i hope it doesnt affect me, but ill probably call them on monday just to make sure...

Jasety, i am in the same type of boat as you. I just turned 19 two weeks ago and i am going to be starting in the Spring. I don't think my age worked against me in any way. I think it helps show how serious you are to get into the work force and do your job! Congratulations on achieving so much at such a young age!

For those of you who have received your packets...did any of you decide to order the package that comes with scrubs, shoes, stethoscope, etc for $156? I just placed my order today. Does anyone know if it's going to get mailed to us or if we will pick it up at the bookstore?

yes, i got the package deal for 156 as well with my application.

I got the Vivian Smith scholarship, such a pleasant surprise =) I'll be turning in a scholarship application as well and see what I can get; otherwise I'll have to rely on loans since this is my second degree.

I received the scholarship application as well but not any offer.

Also, I received the $156 package but I am not planning to order it. It was not much of a saving when I itemized from the bookstore. Instead I plan to splurge a little on the stethoscope and get the Classic I (figures we will use it extensively) and the other supplies from the bookstore or other sellers.

What is the vivian smith scholarship? I recieved the packet but no info on that. I think I might also get the package deal from the bookstore, but might change up the shoes if the ones offered are not comfortable.

I'm also confused as to what this vivian smith scholarship is. What is it based off of? Because I got an application for a scholarship in my packet but I there is no "vivian smith" name on it?
