I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)
I'm sorry that was the only thing I could find on line about registration so far. I am sure in the next week or so they will put up a tab under term for Spring 2011 semester to be able to register. No I am done with all my pre-req's and they removed the rest of my holds today so I assume they have my background, drug test and I faxed over my cpr, immunizations, and emailed my residency forms all on Monday. As for how long we can register, I am sure they know some are still completing classes and I am positive we all have plenty of time to register. I still haven't received my admissions packet which will probably give us more info, you know. . .If any one has gotten theres please let us know, it is almost the 12th which is when they said we would get them by. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
we can register until jan 7th there is a calender on the ut son website showing regular reg. is November 15th until January 7th and late reg. is Jan 10th- 14th so you guys will be safe. I also am taking pre req.'s so will have to wait until late dec. to do so. And the payment deadline is also January 7th. Hope that helps!

we aren't able to register until all of our holds are gone and this includes the transcript hold as well.
i'm in the same boat as you guys because i'm currently taking micro and stats this semester. a friend of mine who is in her 1st semester said not to worry because the classes don't get full...

I am also finishing up my classes. I was starting to worry that I would be the only one at orientation that didn't have my ID badge:) Glad to know I won't be alone.

Thanks so much surfoxxy2120, that is extremely helpful information....I think we are all so excited and I am sure it will all fall into place once we get started, always does.
I am also planning on using grants and loans to pay for school, I have a friend who is in her 3rd semester right now and she got a student loan from her bank to pay for hers and she said it was plenty to get her through. I also asked her yesterday about the cost so far per semester and she said it is consistantly in the 3 thousands....so far. Not sure if it will be exactly the same for all of us but I am sure it will be close to that.
Hey ya'll! I am in the same boat completing one pre-req right now. I spoke with an admissions counselor and she said that although we will not be able to register until they have that final transcript, it should not be a big deal since the classes are already designated for us. So I'm not going to worry about that! I just need to pass this Philosophy class! hah
How are you all going about getting these loans/grants? FAFSA? It is all so confusing to me! Is anyone going directly through a bank to get a loan or is that dumb? Please let me know if you have any advice!!
This is the school's website for financial aid...I went there and filled out my financial verification worksheet and went on to the FAFSA website from here to fill out that portion which they sent to the school once I completed it. I have to supply a signed copy of my tax return from 2009 and my w2's per the school's request and they will determine what and how much I am eligible for. My friend in her 3rd semester went through a bank because she is about 10+ years younger than I am (23, 24 or so) and she is still claimed by her parents so she didn't qualify for enough financial aid assistance which is why she just got the loan from her personal bank...Most banks have loans designed for students based on certain credit requirements and they aren't as high in interest as contemporary loans...
If you have questions go onto the school's website with the link above and get the number for the financial office at UT and they can definitely get you started.
Hope that is helpful some.

Are you taking any pre-requisites right now? I have an admissions hold where you have to send them your school transcript after you finish that pre-req. Which is going to be way in December, around the 20th. I'm hoping I'll still have time to register for classes.
