  1. Had interview on Tuesday. Thought it went well but still waiting to hear back for second interview. Was told we would hear yesterday or today. I keep checking email and getting nervous. Has anyone received an email?
  2. i spoke with someone in financial aid office yesterday and i was told that it takes 4-6 weeks to process my financial aid information. i told them that i cannot pay for anything, classes, books, supplies, out of pocket and that i need financial aid to pay for it all and they said that it takes 4-6 weeks and if my financial aid isnt taken care of by the first day of class, there will be a one time late fee on the classes i enroll in. that is scary info especially for those of us who cannot go to school unless we use financial aid. I did email my financial aid advisor. you can find your advisor on the financial aid page on UT. your advisor is based on your last name. they have their emails so hopefully it wont take 4-6 weeks but if it does i will be doing it all at the very last minute.
  3. i dont think that dec. 4th is too late for cpr. so far all the stuff that i have faxed and mailed in, immunizations etc. have been taken off my holds the following day or by day 2, so i wouldnt worry about it. just make sure you fax it asap and i am pretty sure you will be okay. i wont finish my cpr until dec. 6th, (my last hold). cant wait to register!
  4. i cant get into UT link and it said it is due to high volume. i think because registration begins today for those whose last names begin with u-z, ut link is too busy
  5. same here. scholarship info but no vivian smith.
  6. I dont think that your age will work against you. I think its great that you know what you want to do career wise so early on. I would suggest doing volunteer work in a hospital so that you can be in the environment and make sure you like it and although you have no prior work experience in healthcare, I think that would help. Hesi is computer based and timed but i think you get like 4 or 5 hrs. to complete and i finished mine in 1 and half hours. Good Luck.
  7. I am planning to pay with grants and loans and I would also like to sign up for that work study program. Work study will give $500 a semester and there are perks that come with it.
  8. cool. glad to help. with the cost of everything else i am glad that i stumbled upon that website.
  9. i cant believe i found this!! the junior league of houston offers free health care provider cpr classes. the class is nov. 19th at from 6-9pm. i had to reserve my spot and it doesnt say how many spots are available so if you are interested follow the link and reserve your spot. http://www.juniorleaguehouston.org/?nd=p_event&event_category=CPR it does say nov. 29th and dec. 6th, so it might be 2 nights but for free i will do it!! im gonna call them a little later to see if its 2 monday nights or just one but either way its still the best deal i have found.
  10. My kids are 3 and 5 and are in garden oaks. I am waiting to contact TWU because I want to make sure financial aid will cover the summer semester at UT. I will also take metrorail, I hope the expansion is done soon. Are your kids excited for you? Mine are still too young to really get it but they are excited and i even drove them by the campus to show them where mommy is gonna go to school and their reaction was what you would expect from a 3 and 5 yr. old, "um, thats cool" (shoulder shrug):)
  11. i live next to heights. we should all try to meet for happy hour!!
  12. just got my email as well. see you all at orientation! yay!!!
