  1. That's good information. Are you a class of RNs or BSN?
  2. So, i am in nursing school in Texas right now, and I am going to graduate in August and plan on moving out to California as soon as I graduate to be with my family. I don't even plan on getting my nursing license in Texas, and testing in California. But I was looking at hospital job openings, and I can't find anything that seems to apply to new grads except RN residency programs....the problem is, I won't graduate in time to start any of these programs unless I go without a job for 6 months after I move. So I am looking for any advice that anyone can give me about getting my license, applying for jobs, good hospitals....anything. I am looking in the Anaheim-Orange-Whittier-La Habra-Fullerton-etc. area. Thanks in advance!
  3. I know what you mean. I have been emailing and calling the financial aid office to get information for loans and I can't seem to get any information. Its so frustrating!
  4. I am 99% sure that i saw something about paying tuition in installments. You can check the financial aid website, but i am pretty sure there was something on there about a payment plan option.
  5. Jasety, i am in the same type of boat as you. I just turned 19 two weeks ago and i am going to be starting in the Spring. I don't think my age worked against me in any way. I think it helps show how serious you are to get into the work force and do your job! Congratulations on achieving so much at such a young age!
  6. yeah, i have the same hold with pre requisites. Is there a registration deadline? My classes will be finished by the 17th, so it that going to leave time for me to get registered?
  7. i'm also signed up for that class! i can't wait to meet some of you!
  8. When will registration begin? Will finishing the CPR certification by Dec. 6 leave enough time for registration?
  9. Thanks for all the info Kimmy!! I really appreciate it! As for parking, i took the park and ride from Kingwood to the train station and rode the metrorail to the school. the walk is about a block from the school, it's really not that bad (as long as you aren't wearing heels like I was that day!) The total ride/walk time is about an hour, so not bad considering i didn't have to drive in rush hour traffic! And it costs about $3 a day if you get the student card which you can get from the Main Metro Station downtown once you register for classes. You just have to take a fee statement and class schedule down there and the give you the student card which is half price!
  10. Okay, so one more question about uniforms. Or a few rather: how many days a week do you wear your scrubs? And I was looking at buying a stethoscope and want something unique and easily recognizable, does the tubing have to be plain black or blue? I was thinking about a raspberry or turquoise color.
  11. okay, so for those of you following this thread who are already at UT, what kind of supplies do we need for school? Also, what kind of scrubs do we have to get and is there a certain stethoscope that we have to have? I know its a little early but I am going to be out of town for a few weeks and I want to get as much done as I can as early as possible
  12. okay so now I am freaking a little......how do you get your posts editted/removed?
  13. Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday!:clpty:
  14. My interview questions were the same as the others already posted, but my writing sample was different. Mine was "you are the night manager at whataburger, and you have an employee who is never at his grill and doesn't adequately do his job. What do you do about the employee?" I have no real idea what this has to do with nursing school, but okay lol :-)
  15. So are they really going to make us wait until the 15th to get our acceptance packets? It seems a little silly, especially if we think they are going to be done with notifications in a couple days
