Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

Published

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

Hi Speakthetruth, I got wait listed today too. Any idea how many applicants they typically wait list in a given semester and if the list ever moves? It's better than a decline I guess, but I'm not very hopeful at this point...

hey! I haven't found anything on how many they wait list, that would be really nice to know. From last spring I know that definitely people got accepted off of the wait list. I have to hope that good things will happen for us. I think we should expect some movement after everyone gets their acceptance packets and send back the sheet saying if they accept the school.

Hey, I live in The Woodlands. Are you going to be taking the bus?

CareerChangeMom,

That's where I thought you lived. Did you read my post from earlier? I live near the parkway & 2978, is that close to you?

Who else lives in the Woodlands area?

has anyone taken the background check yet? i went to the gulfcoast website, and it basically told me to go to the precheck site. I just thought that was weird that they listed the gulfcoast website for the undergraduates when it actually directs you to the precheck website....

Thanks for the info., I hope you're right! Good luck to you~

Thanks for all the info Kimmy!! I really appreciate it! As for parking, i took the park and ride from Kingwood to the train station and rode the metrorail to the school. the walk is about a block from the school, it's really not that bad (as long as you aren't wearing heels like I was that day!) The total ride/walk time is about an hour, so not bad considering i didn't have to drive in rush hour traffic! And it costs about $3 a day if you get the student card which you can get from the Main Metro Station downtown once you register for classes. You just have to take a fee statement and class schedule down there and the give you the student card which is half price!

I noticed the same thing. I just ordered mine from the precheck website. Maybe they wanted to direct undergraduates there to read the content available at that website. That was my guess but I could be wrong. I'm hoping that precheck will work.

Eyrehead & CareerChangeMom -

As of now, I plan to take the park and ride from 1960 & 45. If plans changes, I'd love to carpool if you two are up for it. Just keep me posted...

If there are any others willing to carpool, please let me know...

Everyone should join the group on Facebook.... UT Houston SON Spring 2011 as someone had stated in an earlier post

I have a question, do you all think that they're done updating UT link? Mine has not changed at all, and I will be ok if I am not accepted, but I just need to know, there are other schools I need to prepare for to enter in the spring, and this just keeps me confused and waiting.

UGHH same here.. I need to know.. its annoying that we have to wait when alot of pll already found out. it seems like 80 spots have been filled :( :(

do u think they are letting people know if they are in or not based on when the interview was?

Specializes in Hematology/Oncology.

check your mail to see if you got rejected

I wish I can answer to your question about the link. Mine has not changed as well. I am pretty sure, if we won't get accepted, they will notify us by the end of this month. I hear you.. I am also trying to contact other schools.. It would be great if they could let everybody know at once. But I think it is not possible due to the volume of workload for so many application. Just be patience. Nothing much we can do about this. I am about to give up hope...

I've already accepted the fact that I have been rejected, no need to be disappointed, I believe that things happen for a reason, plus you can always submit another application for fall.
