Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

Hi SerenePeach....have you notified TWU of your plans not to go there yet? I know we have the e-mail of acceptance, but I just feel like I need it in my hands first....and sending a confirmation in to UT before I call TWU. But then I hate to keep people waiting that are on the waitlist at TWU.

Anyone live in the Heights? We should try and do a happy hour somewhere?

How old are your children dpierson? I have 3---5,7 and 10 and they all go to Travis. Did you contact TWU yet?

I'm thinking of catching the Metrorail that is expanding just the other side of 45 in Lindale. I think that would be the easiest way to get there....just get my husband to drop me off and pick me up.

Hi Everpark! I'm the same as you...I just don't feel comfortable declining TWU's offer until I officially accept UT's offer. The people on TWU's waitlist will just need to wait a little longer.

I am so excited for school to start! So much to do, so many things to buy. When I was younger, I always looked forward to the start of every school year - new clothes, new backpacks, new pens and folders, new ME. I am getting that same feeling again, and I can't wait to start the next chapter in my life!

My kids are 3 and 5 and are in garden oaks. I am waiting to contact TWU because I want to make sure financial aid will cover the summer semester at UT. I will also take metrorail, I hope the expansion is done soon. Are your kids excited for you? Mine are still too young to really get it but they are excited and i even drove them by the campus to show them where mommy is gonna go to school and their reaction was what you would expect from a 3 and 5 yr. old, "um, thats cool" (shoulder shrug):)

My kids are excited for me, but I don't think they quite understand the whole education thing. Their more excited when I tell them I got an A on a test. Even my 10 year old said,"Maybe you can go to both schools and make double the money when you get done" He was serious! I hope the rails done too.

I just saw that I have another hold on UTLink which is Nursing School Student Affairs Hold. Does anybody know what this hold is about?

What other do you have readyeddie? I have cpr card hold contact student affairs for assistance. Thats the only hold I have been having. I have no idea if still there is any hope at all. But I think I should be getting ready for the next term. Good luck to all those were accepted.

I have six different ones Blue_River, which are: Criminal Background check, cpr, nursing school student affairs, admission documents, immunizations, and residency form hold.

That's a good sign... They are working on your status. I pray for you. When did you had the interview?

Thank for your prayer but i already got in. I had my interview on sept. 15. I just had another hold added sorry about the confusion.
