Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

I live at 99 and Highland Knolls/Bay Hill Blvd. I am thinking about carpooling. I guess it will be easier to plan once we know the schedule.

Hi SerenePeach....have you notified TWU of your plans not to go there yet? I know we have the e-mail of acceptance, but I just feel like I need it in my hands first....and sending a confirmation in to UT before I call TWU. But then I hate to keep people waiting that are on the waitlist at TWU.

Anyone live in the Heights? We should try and do a happy hour somewhere?

Well, I'm sure ill get my letter within a day or two. Status and holds haven't changed and no emails. I'm sure the rejection letter is on the way.

Thanks for your encouraging words toward my previous post delgadido.You are right, there is always a hope... I have already got accepted in two of the institution but both of them are out of Texas. I don't know if I really want to move out from texas for couple of years. So, I think I will try one more time down in here otherwise... Good Luck to all of you.

keep in mind there are also other good schools in the area...try applying to multiple schools in houston also theres twu utmb hbu

i'm working full-time at the moment and plan to work part-time (16-24 hrs/wk) come january. if i have to reduce my hours once the semester starts then i will do so. however, my spouse might be getting laid off in the spring and we might need that part-time income.

i got into utmb's BACC2, but am declining the acceptance. i originally was planning to attend, but need to stay local and have the option to work now that my financial situation has changed.

as for the time of orientation, i emailed the school and am waiting to hear back.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I have part time hours right now, but am nervous just because I don't know what we're in for yet as far as courseload. I will do the same, leave if I have to. My job's in Houston as well! I am going to decline utmbs trad. program acceptance, it feels kinda sad having to decline.. But looking at it, we are giving someone else acceptance into their school! And being accepted to ut houston is a dream! so everything is set! I cant wait for orientation!! :anpom:

I'm confused.....for the background check, they have the gulf coast nursing site for BSN students, yet on the page we have to click the Precheck link? I thought Precheck was used for graduate nursing students?

Also, does anyone know if can we send the Residency Questionnaire by fax or do we have to go to the school and personally turn in the form to the registrar's office?
