Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

I was confused also. I went ahead and did it and it is already off my hold list.

When it you submit it? If you dont mind me asking. I did my this past Friday Nov.5.

Also, does anyone know if can we send the Residency Questionnaire by fax or do we have to go to the school and personally turn in the form to the registrar's office?

I believe you can fax it, but I went ahead and sent it via mail on Wed. and its already off the holds. They provide the fax number and address on the residency form.

I just saw that I have another hold on UTLink which is Nursing School Student Affairs Hold. Does anybody know what this hold is about?

I think that is the hold on your account that will be there until transcripts indicating that ALL required courses have been completed. I think that's it... if my memory serves me correct.

I am so excited for this upcoming semester! will any of you be actually working when it starts? I have been having a hard time teeter-totterring on the idea of quitting my job, but if it is a must, then it is a must. just wanted to get yall's input as well! did anyone else get accepted to utmb as well as uthsc? and a note on the immunizations: wow! i will be having titers done for hep b and MMR due to not being able to find the original records! ( we moved ALOT!) Anyway, I cannot wait for orientation! Has anyone heard word on the time of orientation? well congrats to everyone, and good luck to those with future acceptance! :yeah:

Technically, you really don't have to get the titers. If you want to be absolutely certain, then for sure get them, but UT health will not require you to get the results of a titer (even though they say that they do). They MIGHT have changed the policy, but I'm pretty sure they didn't

how long is it before you get a response with a date and time when you submit your drug screening request?

my drug screen request didnt give a date. it just said, "You need to arrive at the testing site - between 8 am – 5:00pm. Please go in for testing AS SOON AS YOU CAN." and the email came less than a day later for me.

Can anyone tell me what the sender's name was?

Did you get an email when you paid confirming your information? The sender's name is the same in both the receipt email and the email confirming the location. Also, since yesterday was Saturday, they may be closed so you might not get a response. I got a response on Friday ( I signed up Thursday afternoon).

Hi all! I was accepted last Tuesday, as well! I haven't joined the Facebook group yet but am wondering where everyone is planning to do their BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification? I live in Midtown but don't mind driving within reason. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations. Thanks and look forward to meeting you all soon!

I decided to renew the CPR cert. at the location I first got mine at; UTMB in galveston. its relatively cheap compared to other places. $25, I'm taking it on the 27th of this month.
