Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

Published

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

OUCH 3RD TIME? I don't think applying again necessarily means you'll get in. I figure there is a reason you dont get in and in order to reapply and get in you'll have to change/correct it. But of course they aren't going to tell you why you didn't get in if they reject you..

Delgadido- why do you think that applying a second time guarantees you to get in?

past threads had ppl with 2nd time application(people who received interviews) usually had acceptance 2nd time. but this is just what i picked up from other threads. I have never seen anyone say that they didnt get in on their 2nd interview.

There are people in my class that this was there 3rd try to get in...

3rd time interviews?

but the people that did say they got in... didnt just apply a second time but recieved an interview both times

I don't think applying a second time is a guaranteed acceptance. No guarantees in life except death and taxes! :chair:

based off of other people... you know what i mean..

hi everyone i've been watching this thread for awhile and i am just deciding to post b/c i am SOO NERVOUS!!! ughhh this waiting is killing me and it sucks b/c i really think i am on the fence with my GPA of a 3.44, but everything else I have is pretty good... idk it just sucks waiting and analyzing and i am ready to find out already!!! i wish everyone the best of luck and hope we can become future class mates :)

I took chemistry on level at lonestar, but then found out I could have taken the introduction to chem instead..does admissions look at situations like that? If I would of taken intro, my grade could of been an A.

I also called the school and were told that they'll notify applicants after November 15,

Delgadido: The person I know had an interview the 2nd time as well.

What?! They did? :( But that's too long........I keep having dreams about getting accepted and stuff. Driving me crazy.

I was thinking about that also. Like whether the level of a class affects anything. Like if you made an A on a pre-req at a community college....but someone else made an A at a university...do they have an advantage? I took General Chemistry over the summer and got an A. So I just wonder if they're analyzing everything really thoroughly like that.

I believe that they do take into account the differences such as where you took the course and if it were intro vs regular. There were people last Spring that applied with 4.0s that did not get in but people with lower GPAs from universities that did.
