I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)
I actually already graduated from UT -austin and now i am going back to school for nursing so i am just taking pre-req classes at HCC. oh I got a question for you... for conversion did they tell you like (1yard=3 feet)? for teas it did so I am wondering if for HESI they help you out like that.
did they have moles or molarity problems for chemistry?

I think you have to know pints/cups/gallons and the yard to ft one.. and maybe the lbs to kg? don't take my word for it...i may be thinking about the dosage and solutions conversions test conversions we need to take every semester... so don't forget those conversions because you WILL need them (plus others) while in school. :)
what is this critical thinking portion on HESI? what are the question like? I bought this HESI book but it never talked about critical thinking portion
The critical thinking is seeing if you can reason out which patient or situation is the most important for you to attend to. don't worry about it too much... some of these questions can't be answered until you have some more nursing background. i don't think UT looks at it much...still try to do your best, but don't stress over it.
How has everyone done on the HESI?? I can't really find anyone to compare my score too. I know 75 is passing but not sure if mine is very competitive....I got an 89 btw
I haven't taken mine yet, but as far as i know they use the individual scores for the sections they require. Basically the scores on Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and General Knowledge, Grammar, Anatomy and Physiology, each of those sections need to be minimum of 75.
Critical Thinking is minimum 750.
The 89 sounds very promising, I would be proud of myself if I were you!!! Good Luck!!!

i didnt think the hesi test was that bad. it had pretty general science sections. i dont recall having any analogies on mine... I didnt do that great on my reading section, but then again, im not a big fan of reading... math was REALLY easy. just know fractions, proportions, and conversions. it was pretty much 8th grade math.
What college are you coming from?
