I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)
For those of you who already took the HESI for UT, did you take the Biology and Chemistry sections?? I just came from my test and saw that those sections were up there, but I didn't take them because UT doesn't require them. I took all the other sections though, but I didn't see a submit button (I pushed EXIT instead) and now i"m worried I did something wrong. The lady at the testing center wasn't much help when I asked her about that.
At the info session, they listed the required sections, and Chem and Bio weren't included. Also, if you visit this link:
http://son.uth.tmc.edu/prospstudent/applresources/documents/hesi_a2_faq.pdf
They list the required sections, not including Chem or Bio.
Hmmm... I did not know that there were sections on the test that were not required. I was under the impression that whatever shows up should be completed. I did all the sections, so I don't know if it will count against me.
I know someone who did the same thing and contacted UT...they were told the only grades they would use in calculating applicants would be those required by UT so you should be ok.
2 whole mths before the deadline.

Yeah, I contacted UT and they told me the same thing, only the required sections will be calculated into the admission process.

You need to think of CLEP and AP credit as transfer credit. How do you get transfer credits? By sending official transcripts to the school you are applying to. In the case of CLEP and AP, you need to pay ETS to send your official score reports to every school you are applying to.
