Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

Published

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

Good idea with the facebook group!! Good luck to everyone on your interviews! Let us know how it goes. I know you are all going to do great! Mine is on Thursday and I've got my fingers crossed!!

hi guys -

Sorry, my mistake. My interview is tomorrow Sept 15th @ 8am not the 13th. So I don't have any update as of yet. I do have a question though...the interview invite said to bring "a one page resume." You think it's okay if its two pages?

I'm having a very hard time whittling 15 years of work experience, multiple jobs, down to one page...

I know what you mean with the one page resume. But in my opinion, if they say one page...they mean one page. But again, I'm pretty matter of fact.

I would try and put the most relevant info!! and i'm sure the most recent will be the most important! hope this helps!

@ beeber. I am sure it would be fine to bring multiple pages as long as it was organized in a professional manner. not everyone will have 1 pg or less on a resume. and there if it is big it is kind of ridiculous to make the font so small just to fit in there.

Dont think too much about it imo. just make it look professional and bring it.

Omg guys I have an interview with UT SON TOMORROW (Sep 15) AT 12PM!!!!!!!!!!:D

I am so excited/nervous!! I think I've prepared pretty well........ ahhhhhh wish me luck!

:yeah:GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU GETTING READY FOR INTERVIEWS :yeah:

I have one more day to stress about it...lol...

thank you so much for the information!! im sure you did great!

good luck to everyone else

and heres to the waiting game until acceptance letters go out!

Thank you all for the helpful information and tips.

I posted previously but my interview is with the Sept. 16th group at 8am. I keep preparing for questions but it doesn't shake off that nervous feeling. My adrenaline level has rushed beyond normal right now.

I will definitely share my portion of the interview after. You all have been so helpful! Good luck everyone!!!

@atinachow- i am sure you did great!

Did they mention how many applicants were chosen for interviews or how long it'll be before you hear something? Do they call you out for the interviews by name, order of arrival, etc? @ what time did you get released? Nervous anyone?.?.?..LOL...

Thanks so much for all the advice. There is not many of us on this thread as opposed to other admission periods, hopefully we'll all be cheering come Nov. :)

@hereigo & KAP - thank you very much for the words of encouragement!!! I need it right about now.

they called a couple of people one at a time then one of the ladies said these people please come with me, she called 5 names (I was one of them) she took us up to a waiting room outside an office where one of the interviewers was interviewing. I believe there was two people interviewing. You are allowed to leave as soon as you finish your interview, I left around 11am but there were still people waiting in the main room (where we filled out the paper work). From what I have read on here the next round of applicants was to arrive at 12pm. It may have been in alphabetical order but not in order of arrival (as I mentioned I was the last one to arrive).

I did not ask how many people were applying. Maybe one of you guys can ask. I've been wondering the same thing. There was about 25 applicants there this morning...2 shifts of interviews so let's assume 50 per day, now how many days are they interviewing? She said they would inform us ASAP but she didn't give a specific date.

hereigo - I sure hope your right about the cheering in November!!!!

If anyone could please let us know from your interviews earlier this week and today about how many people were interviewed during your time slot. This might help us figure out how many applicants were given interviews.

I'm noticing that time slots are twice a day (8am and 12pm) with several in each slot. So far they've sent letters for this week of Sept. and next week of Sept. Considering that the interview process goes on through October and decisions are usually made beginning of Nov., we might be able to do the math if we know how many was in one time frame.

Let's assume they interview the full month of Oct. Starting Sept. 13th (does anyone have a Friday interview? Maybe they skip Fridays). That puts in 7 weeks of interviews x possibly 4 days in the week x 2 time slots x ?interviewies at the time = ???

Ahhh, we all sound so nervous, don't we?! LOL. I guess it really doesn't matter what the answer is but I know that this helps us a little with all this anxiety and curiousity.
