  1. Hello all! I've just started UTA's RN-BSN online program. I'm debating whether to take the Med Term & Legacy of the Family for my electives OR taking both Coop electives. Certification is not an option for me since I'm a new RN and most certifictions require 2+ years exp. If anyone has taken Coop, I'd like to find out what type of assignments given and how was it graded. I plan to double up on a good majority of classes and was hoping someone could provide their opinion on these electives. Thanks!
  2. Hi! This may sound like an unintelligent question, but I'm going to go for it and ask anyways. I'm a first semester nursing student and I'm having trouble distinguising the difference between Nursing Implications, Nursing Interventions and Nursing Implementations. I'm using three different resources of drug guides and it seems that these terms are counter-exchanged as the 'action of the nurse to carryout certain tasks of the plan'. I am specifically looking for Nursing Interventions for drug cards that I'm suppose to make. Could someone please explain the difference in specifics? Thanks for your help in advance!
  3. Has anyone's holds changed yet for today? I'm wondering if they are already done updating. It seems that quite a lot of you have been accepted already and considering there are only 80 spots, it doens't look good for me. I'm bummed but CONGRATS to all of you! I haven't given up yet and will keep trying!
  4. I was SUPER nervous at first. I think the first question caught me off guard. My interviewer asked it right when I sat down. I kept telling myself before the interview to take my time to collect my thoughts before I start answering but of coorifice, I didn't remember to do that and I practially stumbled through my answer after the first 2 sentences. I had to stop and appologize...I told her, "I'm sorry, I'm really excited & nervous. Do you mind if I back up and start over?" She smiled and told me "It's okay, I think everyone gets nervous. You're doing just fine." So I felt a little better that she wasn't too serious about it. After that, I felt less nervous and was able to breeze through the questions. But no doubt about it, I'm a little embarassed :sofahiderthat I said that and think that was a complete disadvantage on my end of the stick. I did redeem myself in the end b/c I prepared myself with questions to ask her after the interview.... But idk, it's been tough to think about how I did individually compared to the rest of the 400+ other interviewers.
  5. I totally agree with you. Perseverance is key to success. I definitely have back-up plans. I actually applied to the LVN program last semester, got in but didn't accept b/c I was waiting to apply for Spring 2011. I'm also applying to the ADN program. I'll know by December if I get in. Chances look good for that. But of course, this UT is my top priority and main choice so hopefully I get in, but if not...I still have the LVN defered to another semester and wait for ADN. Well I hope they see that your persistance in trying and great job in improving your GPA! That is a big leap. Good luck! :)
  6. Hi quimblebee. Thanks for the quick reply. I sure hope it's earlier. So you applied last Spring? How about Fall? If you don't mind me asking, did you not get accepted or were there other reasons you didn't accept them? How was your interview and credentials? Well either way, I hope you get in this semester. This nursing entrance stuff is tough.
  7. (here I go with my silly calculations again)...since it seems that there has only been two weeks of interviews, all with 25 in each time slot, that is about 500 people they would have interviewed already. If there isn't anyone else checking in here for Oct. interviews, they very well may be done. I hope sure hope so. Maybe they were giving Nov. 15 as the latest date they will have answers out but they might get it out sooner, I would think.
  8. Hi again everyone! I was with the 9/16 8am group yesterday. It's really hard to tell how my interview went. The questions were very simple but my nervousness got the best of me and it showed with my "uhhhs and ummms." I hope that didn't affect my chances. I feel that I answered well and as honest as I could but I couldn't get my words out as articulate as I could have. Just breathe and the rest of you will be fine. Overall I think my interview day went well but could have been better. ...and so the wait begins...
  9. @mt56 - wow, good job! Awesome list! Hopefully everyone can contribute to the roll call...but too bad not everyone is on this site. Anymore volunteers to do a head count for future interview time slots?
  10. @hnphan - I received an email on my personal email account thay I listed on my application on 9/3 first. Then I received the hard copy mailout dated 9/1 the following week (delay possibly due to Labor Day holiday). My interview is scheduled for tomorrow 9/16. So I think they give at least 2 weeks advanced notice. @kitcait08 - I'm sure your interview went well regardless of the wait. More waiting ahead. Good luck! :)
  11. @hereigo2011 - i will volunteer to bob my head as well at 8am. lol
  12. Yes it would exceed that amount. Maybe they aren't interviewing all of October ...maybe they have a few days they skip...and maybe there aren't 25 people in a slot. Hmmm... we can only help but wonder and stress. *sigh* Okay, no more analyzing from me. :sstrs:
  13. oh wow, if @atinachow says they may have been interviewing 50 in the one day, and @ mt56 said they are interviewing fridays, that means 5 days out of the week for 7 weeks. that is quite a lot of people being interviewed. i'm even more nervous now.
  14. If anyone could please let us know from your interviews earlier this week and today about how many people were interviewed during your time slot. This might help us figure out how many applicants were given interviews. I'm noticing that time slots are twice a day (8am and 12pm) with several in each slot. So far they've sent letters for this week of Sept. and next week of Sept. Considering that the interview process goes on through October and decisions are usually made beginning of Nov., we might be able to do the math if we know how many was in one time frame. Let's assume they interview the full month of Oct. Starting Sept. 13th (does anyone have a Friday interview? Maybe they skip Fridays). That puts in 7 weeks of interviews x possibly 4 days in the week x 2 time slots x ?interviewies at the time = ??? Ahhh, we all sound so nervous, don't we?! LOL. I guess it really doesn't matter what the answer is but I know that this helps us a little with all this anxiety and curiousity.
  15. Thank you all for the helpful information and tips. I posted previously but my interview is with the Sept. 16th group at 8am. I keep preparing for questions but it doesn't shake off that nervous feeling. My adrenaline level has rushed beyond normal right now. I will definitely share my portion of the interview after. You all have been so helpful! Good luck everyone!!!
