Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

Does anybody that goes to Lonestar having problems with their transcript being sent to UT Houston? Because Ut Houston has not received my last transcript from Lonestar Cy-Fair and I request it to be sent since last Friday. Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I had problems over the summer at the North Harris campus. At that time, I requested them to send them once grades were posted and it took them 3 weeks to process the request. I ended up have to submit a second request to send them immediately.

This semester, they told my best bet is to come in first thing on Jan 3rd and pick them up in person because they were already back logged at the beginning of December with requests to be processed once grades were posted. I was hoping that all my grades would post before their offices closed, but I wasn't that lucky.

So come Jan 3rd, I'm gonna pick up the transcripts myself, drive them down to UT, and have them process them right away and I'll go ahead and register at the same time if they'll allow me.

I've been having trouble with financial aid :( Does anyone know when the last day that tuition is due?? I just found out today that I have not completed the master promissory note and entrance counseling, so I went ahead and did that today. But does this mean I will have a delay in my loans being disbursed?? Right now I'm so worried I won't get my tuition paid on time...do the loans have to be disbursed before we start classes?

i didnt know that we needed "entrance counseling"... is this mandatory?

also, i think the last day is friday the 7th... dont take my word on it though.. im basing off of what i remember from orientation...

You need to do the entrance counseling if you take out a subsidized loan

i just completed my master promissory note and counseling today. an autoresponse email from them said that it would send within the next 24 hours.. so i wouldnt think there would be a delay on the loans... ?

That's right, but the thing is that tuition is due on Jan 7th....this Friday. So I am just hoping there is enough time for the funds to get disbursed before then.

As i recalled from orientation, loans are not going to be distributed before the deadline. We will have to pay out of pocket and then get the refund through mail or direct deposit at a later date.

Received an email.

Regular registration and last day to pay without late fee is jan 7

Late registration is jan 10-14

Financial aid check release is Jan 10

As i recalled from orientation, loans are not going to be distributed before the deadline. We will have to pay out of pocket and then get the refund through mail or direct deposit at a later date.

I remember the financial aid officer telling us the loans will be disbursed during the first week of January. I do not think anybody has $3,000+ dollars to pay out of pocket...

does that mean that the grants will not count towards tuition cost til after the deadline? i would think that the loans would be applied towards tuition if the grants are so we wont have to pay out of pocket...?
