Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

U.S.A. Texas

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

yeah, i think i heard that financial aid gets applied directly when you get your bill on utlink, after you register for classes...

Hi! so I could not make it to the boot camp today. If there is anyone on the forum who went - do you mind sharing some tips that you picked up today? Also, do we wear our scrubs to class on Monday? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can go down to financial aid and ask for an emergency 90-day loan while you wait on financial aid. They process it right away and pay your tuition immediately so you can start classes.

if we havent registered yet, will we still be able to attend class and not be kicked out?

Not sure about that one.....but I think they probably would let you attend classes if you talked to them about it and gave them a legitimate reason

Just FYI, my loans got distributed on Friday to my account. They sent a letter to my UT email and I saw the negative balance on my UT Link.

Hi,

I am applying for fall '11 and I am just wondering what they are looking for on these essay questions? I have written them all but they seem too long. Maybe I am just freaking out, but before I submit this application...does anyone have any advice?

Thanks!

I am freaking out...

There are essay questions in the application packet? That's new, we didn't have to do that.

I was reading somewhere in here that when calculating your science GPA they only take your most recent grades? Is that true or if you have retaken a class( several years apart) do they average them? Or count both?

I went to the last open house and they indicated that they take the most recent grade and not an average. However, they warned that for important classes (such as A&P, micro and stats), it is not a good thing if you have taken any of these classes more than twice. Good luck!

they take the highest

Does anybody have any advice on housing near the SON? I'm not familiar with Houston.
