I haven't...I've been thinking about calling them tomorrow...

Hi, everyone!

I called Financial Aid yesterday to check up on my application (I submitted all of my paperwork early last week). They were great and said they should have an award package ready for me towards the end of next week and that it would be mailed out. I explained that I would be in town for orientation and they said I could also stop by the office to review it and sign for it. Exciting!

Serene Peach - I also posted to Mac question to our FB group and got a ton of responses - all positive regarding Mac compatibility....

TXJeepGirl, are you sure they said you'll be getting a package so soon? What I've been told is that it takes 4-6 weeks after you've submitted your application to receive an award letter in the mail. My Fafsa was processed on November 11 and I am still waiting since it hasn't been 4 weeks yet.

I was also told I should be receiving an award letter sometime next week. UTLINK also shows my financial aid info as complete.

Did you register for classes already? I called the Financial aid office on Monday and was told it would be ready in 4 weeks.

Yes I registered about two weeks ago.

Does registering for classes have anything to do with when you'll receive the letter?

I thought it did, but I believe I'm wrong. I called Financial Aid today and they told me that a package will be processed for you regardless of whether you sign up for class or not. You won't receive funds until you're enrolled in classes. I actually submitted my FAFSA back in June when I was applying to nursing school.

However, I was told (again) that it would be about another 4 weeks or so for my package to be processed. Which is very worrisome to me. I'd like to know what kind of aid and how much I will be receiving before I decide to pursue private lenders.

Thanks, SerenePeach! Not sure if you know, but if I enroll in classes around December 20th...(since that is when I'll be able to enroll)..do you think I'll still have enough time to get all my aid in order?

to all who don't have access to the ut email system yet i thought this email may be interesting to you regarding financial aid.
