Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

when do y'all have give the intention to attend UT by?

I believe it's December 23...

Do you remember if you used all of the textbooks that are "required" for the courses? I'm getting ready to order mine but have also heard that we won't use the nutrition book or patho book. I also noticed on the website that "medical-surigcal" books were recommended but not required.

To answer your questions yes you do use all of the required books at one point except the nutrition book and the pharmacology book...If you guys get the same professor that we have then it will be straight powerpoint. So if I were you I will hold of on the pharm book.

We had to mail a letter of intention in by November 23rd. We had to accept, deny, or put our application in for another semester.

I noticed several people mentioning and strongly recommended not getting the a Nutrition book. :confused: The book is listed as recommended and not required, just curious is this the book for the Adult Health Care I?

Hey Classmates,

My final hold was lifted this morning (CPR) and I'm finally registered! I noticed that only 8 people (well, guess 9 now that I've registered) are registered - if I'm interpreting the number on the right hand column correctly. In addition, I think someone may have forgotten to register for Health Assessment. There is one less person registered for Health Assessment than the other courses.

Maybe it's not a mistake but I thought I would just mention it.

Does anyone know when tuition is due? I haven't really tried to find the date - just thought one of you might already know.

All my holds are gone! :D Except for the admission documents one. I have to send them my transcript at the end of the year

anyone have trouble getting paperwork into the school? every time i send stuff in, they never get it the first time. its taken two or three tries for each of my holds. even today, i just called this afternoon and they still haven't received my letter of intent to attend. i sent it last week.

i ended up driving down there to drop off my registration deposit because i forgot to include it in with my letter of intent. should i be concerned that they haven't gotten the letter? it was due today....

That's odd. Do you fax or email or mail it to them? You should fax all the papers to them. I think that faxing is most reliable...and are you sure you gave your deposit to the correct person when you went there? Maybe it's just not processed yet?
