Spring 2019 Lone Star Hopefuls

Published

I've decided to make this page for anyone applying for the Spring 2019 ADN program at Lone Star CF/K. I'm so nervous and it's still kinda far away! Good luck!

I was able to take the HESI today at Tomball. It was crazy ya'll people were pushing each other to get in line because they only took the first 12 people!!

I did pretty good for not having studied at all. 93% overall. I just submitted my application, my score is 7.712. I'm really hoping I get in!

Does anyone know how long after the deadline before they start sending acceptance e-mails?

Awesome job!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe people were shoving each other to get in, so crazy!

I'm not sure when to expect results but earlier in this thread somebody posted that we should hear back before the end of the month? We'll see!

Dang! How many people were there? I bet some people were so upset to have not gotten in...

Last year there was only 10 days between me submitting my app and getting my acceptance email. A

Ok perfect! Next week they will let us know if we did anything wrong on the application, right?

They let me know last year that something was wrong with mine and I believe someone in the thread above this said they had already been contacted about fixing something. I was nervous-I deleted and resubmitted documents a few times before hitting the final submit button. I check my email everyday to see if they said there was a mistake but even the silence gives me anxiety lol!

Oh that's awesome to hear! The selection process seems pretty cut & dry so I'm sure that helps speed to notification process up.

Hello everyone one. I definately know how each and everyone of you are feeling right now. That's because i was in your shoes last year. This waiting game is horrible if you ask me . I am currently in the ADN program at Cy-fair. I am in the 3rd semester. I remember that when i applied, we recieved notifications for Cy-fair during the first week of October, but that may have been because there was alot going on after Harvey. I know that the previous year, notifications were sent out around 09/21. I do believe Kingwood sends out notifications earlier though but i am not sure. One thing i can say about the program at Cy-fair is that it is tough since it is only 18 months; Spring, Summer (this is the toughest semester), Fall, Spring. I believe Kingwood is 24 months but they give you the option to take classes during the summer. During this time, try to take any classes you are missing for the degree plan; A&P 2, Micro, Pharmacology, and an elective like an Arts class. You can take them while in the program, but you'll be adding to your workload. If you decide to take them while in the program, just don't do it during the Summer semester because it only lasts 10 weeks instead of 16, you will be taking 2 classes and attending 2 clinicals per week. I don't want to scare any of you because at the end of the day, it's doable. You just have to buckle up, make alot of sacrifices for the next 18 months, be mentally prepared, have good time management, set reminders all the time and pass the semester with atleast a 75. There's so much i can tell you guys but this post is already too long :dead:. Feel free to ask me any questions. Questions from the application process may be difficult to answer since i applied over a year ago and things may have changed. Good luck guys!

Congrats!!! You are almost finished. I know that's exciting. I was wondering after the first year, do they allow you to take the LVN Nclex? I know at some college they do it.
