  2. Thank you so much! They did away with the interview portion a few years back & I *think* UTMB did away with their deposit (that could've been something we were all discussing on the board), but UTH required a $200 deposit to accept our seat, it does go toward tuition though! That's probably a good thing to mention actually, when you get accepted you'll have to pay the deposit and then pay for fingerprinting and a drug screen pretty immediately. It caught some people off guard rightfully so, but it's something to be aware of so that y'all can plan ahead if need be!
  3. I applied and was accepted to three different programs for Spring 2019. Each program had a different decision date and naturally results came out starting with my least desired school. I accepted the seat, then when I received my second acceptance I emailed the first program rescinding my decision and accepted the new seat offer, and once UTH accepted me (my first choice school), I did the same thing. Both of my other programs were very understanding, supportive & appreciating that I took the time to notify them. I was also lucky in that neither of the other programs required a deposit like UTH does, so I was not out any money. It happens all the time though and I'm sure a number of people put their names in multiple hats. Best of luck to you!!
  4. I say shoot for summer! Honestly, I studied for about two weeks if that for the HESI & cut a 93% overall on it. Personally, I didn't find it as difficult as some made it out to seem and it was all pretty basic stuff. With your 4.0 GPA I'd say you're more than prepared to take it and do well. Just trust your gut and don't overthink the questions, you'll do great!!
  5. After much thought and consideration, I emailed SHSU this morning to give up my seat in the cohort 16 class. I was accepted to multiple programs and decided to go with one that better fit my immediate goals and timeline. I am happy to give one of the alternates the chance to start their nursing journey and wish you all the best of luck!!!
  6. Thank you! I'm still stuck between the two though. I thought for sure I was going to select SHSU (mostly since I didn't expect a UT acceptance), but the May 2020 graduation date is just calling my name. That & I think the program may be cheaper through UT if I found the correct info. SO CONFLICTED!
  7. Yes! The more the merrier for the carpool!
  8. That sounds like a pretty solidly based decision! I am still torn between SHSU & UT Health myself, there are so many factors that go into this decision it's making me crazy! lol. I saw you mentioned you live in the woodlands, I live in Spring right outside of the woodlands, if I choose UT maybe we could look at carpooling!
  9. I have all my immunizations except for this years flu shot and all my titers except for MMR. I did most of mine on base in SA before moving here, but I found Express Family clinic to be pretty reasonable on their vaccines/titers when I was calling around.
  10. Mine was also scheduled through Identogo, the blue card was sent to my home address and it took about 10 days to get back to me, I've actually gotten two (one for each program I'm assuming, lol).
  11. Congrats! I completed my background check and have my blue card already since I was previously accepted into two other programs.
  12. My portal still says application under review, the acceptance email said I'd get a notification of when it updates for me to accept.
  13. So I checked my email after not seeing my portal updated and I received an acceptance email at 4:36 to my personal email! Now to decide between SHSU & UTHealth.
  14. Congratulations on both of your acceptances! Your perseverance clearly paid off, good luck on the tough decision of which school to attend!
  15. Mine's normal, in the past mine has not loaded or locked me out, I had to call and have it reset. :/
