Now that January is here, I thought I'd start a thread where we can support and encourage each other through our Spring semester, similar to our Fall thread, but with a bit more chit chat. What's your schedule look like? Any other goals you're working on?
I go back on the 17th, though I have a Phi Theta Kappa meeting on the 13th.
My schedule is:
A&P II
Microbio
Federal Government
World Religions
The last two are online.
Right now I'm trying to lose this holiday weight, so I've started running again (it burns). I graduate at the end of this year! In December I'll have my EMT-B certification and my Associates of Science in Biology. I'll also be applying to nursing school (application deadline is August 1), so it's going to be a really exciting (busy) year for me! I'm hoping to use my EMT-B cert to become an ED tech during the summers.
I look forward to chatting with you guys this semester!
I haven't been around in a couple of days I guess, I am getting really beaten down by stupid things that are out of my control. Every time I think I found a way to get all these pre reqs done by January, something tries to knock me down a peg or three. I'm just over it. I may get dropped from part of my summer classes for non payment, but I was told I had a certain due date, now they are saying it was already due and I just don't know. And if I can't get these done over summer, I'm out for BSN in spring, I can still do ADN (if I get accepted) but that's less convenient for my life.I'm trying to find some positives in this. I did get a 91.8 in micro as my final grade so if I get an A in AP2, I'll get into honor society. That's something, right?
Aww I'm sorry
I had similar issues last summer. I really wanted to start Fall 2017, but the way the application cycle works it just didn't work out. I was super bummed, and that's when I started making plans for my EMT cert. It can feel so overwhelming sometimes. We're always here if you need an ear!
Which honors society? PTK? That's the one I'm in! Nice job on your micro grade!
I had my last clinical for this semester, yesterday. I'm so happy it's over, I'm ready for hospital clinicals :) I had my skills lecture exam yesterday and I'm so anxious to find out whether I passed but I won't find out until Friday. I took my last lab competency today and felt I performed well. I also had my pharmacology final and believe I did well in that too.Fall registration will be this coming Monday!
Where were your clinicals this semester? LTC? Great job this semester!
Update from me. I woke up this morning with a fever and a killer sore throat. No time to be sick though, so I just got home from my last A&P II Lab exam. I'm so relieved it's over. I feel like I did well, so that's good. I also talked to my professor, because canvas has my grade at an 88 (she's the one behind on grading). She said she doesn't see how I'd make anything but an A in the class, and to stop worrying. Lab practical for Micro tomorrow and then that's IT until finals next week.
T-minus one week until I'm a college grad :)
I'm all done for this semester, it feels a little surreal. Now I have a few weeks, so I'm going to try and read the three novels required for world lit and just relax. Honor society I meant is Tau Sigma, it's for transfer students. I know we have golden key and uh... phi kappa phi? I think they cancelled their pbk or ptk chapter, but I'm not 100% sure.
I spent awhile trying to get ahold of someone in the business office to see if I qualify for an emergency loan but they were unreachable. There was an active shooter situation on a different campus today so I'm sure that's throwing everything out of whack. And it's put my small issue into perspective. Maybe tomorrow will bring some news.
Good luck on your practical tomorrow!
I just finished my undergraduate degree and will graduate in a couple months :) I will be applying to accelerated nursing at the end of this year / early next year so right now I've been planning which schools to apply to, highlighting each of the program requirements, and I just registered for a pre-requisite course (Anatomy and Physiology) which I will start in the next few days! I also need to get a job haha so I'm looking for one right now. I've also been upping the intensity of my workouts to shed all my winter fat haha
Just got home from my Neuroanatomy/Neurophysiology exam and somehow pulled a 100% on it?? So now I don't have to take the final next week and am done with the class! All I have to say is, hallelujah to that. haha
I have my 3rd Micro lab practical tomorrow now though and reallllllly don't want to study. My brain is like, "nope" right now. SOS SEND HELP. lol

That's fantastic! Great job!
My last Micro practical is today and I had a really hard time studying last night. Most of the test is over biochemical testing and I just feel like brain is mush. So I'm right there with ya!
