I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --
Hope you can figure out why you weren't admitted! I think it's unfair to work hard for a 4.0 and not be accepted. It has just become recently very difficult to be admitted into a lot of schools, like USF wouldn't even admit people to be interviewed if they had under a 3.9 this year. I had no idea how hard it is to be accepted into nursing school my first year of college.. 'Cs get degrees' LOL
I am sorry that you (the ones who worked so hard and kept 4.0 as well as others who worked so hard!!) did not get in but dont let this slow you down! Its one semester. Take it light, take a vacation, know that this will not stop you from being who you are going to be! If you choose spc next semester they will see your name again. If you choose to finish aa to bsn degree this semester add usf to the list of schools to apply to. Their upper division bsn is like 5 semesters in a row. So it cuts out another year of school. That was my route if not accepted. You may be able to be done with bsn around the same time we may finish this program (ASN) we will all get there! Dont let this change your path!
All i was saying was that would not give people equal opportunity. If they accepted all 4.0 students and no one else could get in then that would be discrimination on some level. But who really knows what happened. Just as it would be wrong if they didnt accept the certain ratio of male students.. I wasnt saying that is what happened i was just throwing it out there..
You are comparing oranges to apples. It's all in the nature of competition. I would think that they would take every person with a 4.0 right off the bat, if they have also satisfied the residency requirement and the credits completed requirement. They want the cream of the crop so to speak. This is a serious profession to where you are dealing with human lives, substandard is not going to do.

I had withdrawals because of a family emergency but I did grade forgiveness and it was not a WF. Just a W so it didn't effect my GPA. I got an A in the two classes I withdrew and the advisor said it didn't matter because u teqniqually have 3 chances to take a class. Idk it's whatever I think it's bs. Because I got the A's so I'm clearly capable of the material. She told me it was luck of the draw if there was A lot of 4.0 applicants. It makes me mad though because she said they can't count WS against u unless they are WF which they weren't. I took the classes and got an A so she said it wouldn't effect my completion ratio because I completed the class. I had everything completed straight As I had to withdrawal because of a family death. They count the A as long as it's in that 3 class try. And I know people who had withdrawals and lower gpa that got in. so it's weird. But it doesn't matter there's always next time. And if not then God has a different plan for me.
