Published

I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --:nailbiting::nurse::nailbiting:

Did you both talk to a advisor at the heath education center? I'm assuming they should know well about admissions into the program.. I believe advisors at other campuses really have no idea about admission into the nursing program and maybe gave bad advising? There are random classes needed to be taken to be admitted. I had no idea my first year that some classes I had taken were used in calculation of the program GPA for nursing, resulting in me only having a 3.70 program GPA

Specializes in NICU RN.

The only adviser I see is at the health center. I'll be going there Monday to inquire what happened and see what the next steps are since I did wverything they told me to do. She even signed off on the application which I still have the signed sheet. So I honestly have no idea. I'm. It mad or anything I'm just thoroughly confused

I just got a email stating "s of the close of our application deadline, our records indicate that you had not met all the requirements or submitted the necessary documentation needed for admission; therefore, your application is incomplete and could not be considered for admission to the Associate in Science in Nursing Program for Fall 2017 Term."

I went through the app with an advisor siting right next to me.. I have no idea what the heck I'm missing. If anyone else got the same email let me know. I do not have Micro done but that's not a "must need" to get in the program

Micro is a must to enter the program. You can't apply without it.

Micro is a must to enter the program. You can't apply without it.

In the past people have been able to apply without micro at SPC, but I believe all other classes needed to be completed, on older allnurses threads people have been admitted without it

It's not a "pre entry requirement" it's a support class

These are all the classes that determine the program GPA

BSC 2085 (A&P)

BSC 2085L

BSC 2086

BSC 2086L

PSY 1012 (psych)

ENC 1101 (comp1)

SPC 1600 (speech)

Humanities

MCB 2010 (micro)

PHI 1600 (ethics)

What is the orientation date?

July 13th at 9am

If you look at the nursing application requirements checklist on the SPC website it is there. It's in the admission guide.

I think she made the comment in regards to you stating 'Literally everyone who got in will be competing with all other 4.0 students basically.' Seems like many people were admitted with a 3.7-3.9. I believe the cutoff GPA had been a 3.76. I don't think there is anyone placed on the alternate list this cycle without the 30/30 credits completed.

Thank you lol..

You can certainly apply, but I doubt you will get in without it being completed. Everyone that is accepted has 30 of 30 credits completed. Plus, there's the overall GPA factor and Pinellas County resident factor.

Just curious, but what is your overall GPA? Not the program GPA, but overall.
