I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --
Not what I meant at all. I was responding to your comment about it being discriminatory if they only accepted students with 4.0's. Of course they want students with the highest GPA because it turn that translates into them making it through the program. They HAVE to maintain certain standards in order to maintain accreditation. This is common sense.
So you think because i was accepted with a 3.76 i shouldnt be in the program? That is not a bad gpa. You are making me feel like im not good enough to be in the program for what reason?
Obviously the admissions committee felt you were good enough to be accepted, you made it, they chose you, you should not feel bad about getting accepted, nor should you apologize for it, you worked hard too and should feel proud!
We don't understand every aspect of how they decide who's in and who's not and frankly the answers to that are not going to be found here.... Congrats to those who got in, and I hope for those who did not get in, to not give up on their dreams and reapply next semester.
I applied without Micro and did not get in, but my letter only said "I regret to inform you that you were not selected to begin the Associate in Science in Nursing Program for the Fall 2017 Term." It goes on to say that all of those accepted had 30 of 30 GenEd and support course credits so I'm assuming my lack of Micro was what kept me out since I have a 4.0 and am a Pinellas county resident. I'm going to speak to an advisor this week though to make sure I'm set for Spring.
They are pretty specific about the requirements. All you have to do is look at the recommended pathway on the Nursing page. Everything before Nursing I is what you need to have completed BEFORE applying. The intermediate Algebra is only a pre-req. to get into Statistics, which is what you ultimately need.

You are telling me ive worked as a cna for years. I completely understand what happens in a hospital setting. I apologized to those who did not make it in. I was lucky. I am not the one who chose the admissions.
