Congratulations to those accepted and those on the waiting list, my fingers are crossed for you! I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the clinical locations? Have you heard good or bad thing about any of them?

I've got a written confirmation from an HEC adviser that it was not a requirement for myself for this past intake. Not sure if that applies to everyone.

Hi everyone! Congratulations to those who were accepted into the program and best of luck to those on the waiting list!! I got into the program with 30/30 credits completed and a 3.9 GPA. Are you all doing the day or evening program and what did you choose as your three options for the clinical sites? :)

They are pretty specific about the requirements. All you have to do is look at the recommended pathway on the Nursing page. Everything before Nursing I is what you need to have completed BEFORE applying. The intermediate Algebra is only a pre-req. to get into Statistics, which is what you ultimately need.

It really depends on when you started. That is the recommended pathway for Fall of 2017. Some people started before that and would be on a grandfathered pathway. The only sure way it to check with an adviser at the HEC directly as to what pathway you are currently on.

I AM SOO SORRY.. wish you the best stay positive

The pathway has not changed because it is state mandated and in turn mandated by the accreditation agencies. There is not any grandfathering being done. You can check the archived pathways on the nursing page. There are none for the nursing program.

Hello congratulations to you as well! I'm hoping for evening classes, and honestly I don't know anything about the clinical sites besides what was on their websites so I chose the closest ones to Clearwater as I could and the three that were offered for evenings first, the others were 30+ minutes away and with the traffic around here that could easily turn into over an hour of driving each way. I'm sure they're are all great though. What were your choices?

I'm not too familiar with the clinical sites either! I chose Morton Plant Rehab Center, Health South or Northside Hospital but I'm hoping for Morton Plant! I plan on doing the day classes though. Have you signed up for the drug/background screening yet? There's so much stuff to do before orientation!

According to the link in my refusal email itself (https://go.spcollege.edu/pages/healthadmissions.aspx?id=1818) there is ZERO mention of Algebra as a requirement. It really greatly depends on when you started. For me I started in 2016 so my requirements may be slightly different than a student starting out in Fall of 2017. You follow the path to whatever your start semester is.

My suggestion to all of you (or us) who got declined - got to the HEC advisers. They will know what path your on and properly advise from there.

All I've done is the letter of intent and MLP I will get DT and background check done, hopefully by Wednesday, thanks to the holiday (-: but that should still be plenty of time. After that the real fun begins with immunizations, physicals, and CPR. It's definitely going to be a busy month for sure!!

Thanks and congrats to you as well! I am looking to do days! But i probably dont get a choice ill be stuck wherever they stick me.. i chose VA menorah manor and northside days.. then mixed the rest in.. im super excited!

Unless you score high enough on the math placement test, you need to take either MAT 1033 (Intermediate Algebra) or MAT 1100 (Exploration of Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning) in order to get into Statistics. Statistics is what you need for the program. The advisor told me that for the Nursing Program, that they really want people to take Intermediate Algebra over the other math class. It has ZERO to do with when you started. These requirements have been in place for awhile now because like I said, they are state mandated and nursing accreditation required courses. I would be curious to see what your HEC advisor says because I bet they tell you the same thing that I just said.
