I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --
Super anxious too, happy this week I will be busy. Scheduled to take the CNA state exam this Monday so I've been keeping busy studying for that. Recently got a job working mondays and fridays. Also moving into my new house this week. The beginning of summer was really tough for me, I've been going crazy waiting. So happy the day we're all notified is almost here!
Here is some uplifting news:
1.) Say there are averaged 550 applicants. There will probably be 30% of applicants who have a 3.75 CUM GPA or higher.
2.) This leaves us with roughly 165 applicants, now Pinellas County presidency, I would take off an additional 20 people.
3.) Now we sit at roughly 145 individuals.
4.) There are roughly 45 slots available for days, 45 for evenings.
5.) Now let us say after orientation 15% fail to pass drug testing, as well as, teeters/immunizations.
6.) This puts as at 122 people. Now I would take an additional 11 people off for change of circumstance/other choice for school.
7.) Now you are competing against 111 people for 90 slots. You would have to be in the bottom tier percentile (Roughly 18.9%) to be concerned.
8.) Roughly 81.1% of you with a 3.75 GPA who commit, will enter the program this Fall.
This is getting really upsetting. I kind of want to tell myself im not getting in so i wont be so sad. I wish they had interviews for us.
Good or bad news I'm still looking forward to knowing so I can move on and plan for the future. I have already been denied from three schools and it is very depressing. I've cried about it a lot, lol. Very recently it has become significantly harder to be accepted anywhere. If denied I will reapply everywhere and hope to be accepted into a RN program in the spring. I had last minute applied to a LPN program and may consider doing that and then a LPN to RN bridge program if SPC denies me. PHSC bases admission off a TEAS test and GPA, so if SPC doesn't accept me I may try raising my TEAS score in hope to be admitted into PHSC in the spring.

Don't forget - not everyone will pass the background and drug screening check. No matter what their GPA is if they don't pass those two components, they get denied.
