Someone forged my signature!!!

Published

Yep, it happened to me. Another nurse forged my signature on a narcotic sheet! I'm pretty certain I know who it was and am not real pleased with the nurse at the moment (obviously!). It wasn't just my name either.

I feel betrayed, hurt, angry, taken advantage of, etc.

I don't think I'll be able to talk to this nurse in a civilized manner anymore.

The one good thing is we saw this at the beginning of our shift and brought it to the DON's attention immediately.

You realize if there was an audit and a missing narc problem came up with Kermitlady's forged name on it & she hadn't realized her sig had been forged, she could have lost her license? And maybe gone to jail?

It's one thing to screw yourself. It's another to do it to someone else.

you are not going to lose your license for a missing narcotic.

Yes, she needs help.

She has no right forging anyone's signature for any reason.

When someone forged my signature (not at work) - it was a

stranger (who briefly had my credit card while I made a

purchase )-- I went to the police, and from there

a judge decided.

The person who has done this, in your name, is doing several

things illegally - and it has to be stopped.

I lost my compassion the minute I read that she forged someones signature, and tried to drag them into her problem. I think the people calling for termination are doing so because she forged another nurses signature which is flat out wrong. :banghead:

Another vote for "terminate, terminate, terminate" here.

I feel a lot of outraged that a person would try to drag another into their addiction. An innocent person could find them scrambling to save their reputation and career over something like this. It is very hard to have compassion in a situation like that.

I might have some compassion if this was the first time it had happened. However, it is now the SECOND time this has happened w/the exact same med in less than a four month period. This nurse could have came forward after the first time and said, "I need help!" instead of letting her coworkers go through all the inquiries and drug testing and wondering. And then to put them all through it AGAIN? Nope, sorry, no compassion at this point.

I hope she gets the help she needs but I have no compassion for her in regards to forging a nurse's name not once but twice. She put them at serious risk on several fronts. She's a danger to those she works with and to her patients. She has no business working in a medical facility at present.

This may sound harsh, but I wouldn't even have compassion the first time it happened. Falsifying data is unacceptable and she has no business representing the nursing profession.

I really wouldn't have compassion for her either if I were her victim. The way I see it she was signing MY NAME, putting MY JOB, MY LICENSE, and MY REPUTATION all at risk. By doing this she is putting MY CHILDREN, MY WAY OF LIFE, AND MY FAMILY AT RISK. Where was her compassion when she forged a person signature. Did she think if I do this and this person loses their job they won't be able to support their children. NO....Terminate!!!!

are you serious? if you read the OP, it was not just one narc. it was a sheet of 30.

her signature was forged by someone who was taking narcotics and if someone had accused kermitlady of stealing them, she may have lost her job, her integrity with her coworkers, faced criminal charges and possibly been reported to the BON and be required to complete nurse rehab before practicing again, nevermind have difficulty finding a job and having to prove herself because she now has an infraction on her license and drug charges.... because someone else forged her signature.

what the forger did was wrong. i'm all about rehab. but that's where this nurse needs to be. not near patients.

I agree with the others.

Drug diversion is illegal. Yes, people have lost their licenses for it (& no, there's no mention in the license revocation notice that these nurses were using the drugs or selling them. I wish I could find an example that doesn't have the person's name and address... ).

Kermitlady could have been accused of being an accomplice. People who know about someone stealing narcs and don't report it can get in trouble if it ever comes to light. There's a lot of serious problems here.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you.

I agree with the OP that she should be terminated. It's obivious that she has a real problem that has gotten to the point where she's bring others into her realm of dishonesty. Who knows if shes even giving her patients the meds that are prescribed to them.

No compassion here!!
