I made my interview on- time after a lengthy flight, sent my thank-you card that evening, and then called HR and the Asst Manager to express my interest a few days after the interview. The only feedback I received after I called to express my interest was "OK," and "Happy Holidays" (from the asst manager). I haven't heard from HR. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything. I thought the interview went exceptionally well. And I have plenty of experience, too. Any advice?

My hospital took a month before they invited me to a 2nd interview. Then 3 weeks before they hired me.

My advice is to relax, enjoy the holiday season and put your positive intentions out into the universe. Best of luck to you!

Slow response might simply be due to the Holidays!! Many people probably on vacation, taking days off etc..You'll probably hear after the first of the year! good luck to you

For my current job, 3 or 4 weeks went by between my first interview and the call back for a second interview, and then another 4 weeks from that interview until I got a verbal offer, and then 6 weeks or so between the verbal offer and the written one. I work for the government, and the wheels of the bureaucracy move veeerrryyy sloooooooowly.
Good luck!

I would say this is typical. The process is generally slow, but when your looking for a job and finally had the interview, every hour that passes, is pretty much like torture.
Try to chill and enjoy the holidays is the best advice. Do you mind if I ask where you flew to for the interview?
Congrats and good luck!

A week isn't a long time. They may have had more interviews already lined up after you they have to complete. Or, where I worked previously, the boss interviewed someone she really liked. It was the first interview. They kept interviewing bc thy wanted at least two good candidates to choose from.
Did you happen to request to be notified even if you were not chosen?

@Noahsmamma...I had an interview last week with public health - they claim they will contact the candidate by xmas and today an interview with VA - both I felt went well...but sounds like I probably won't hear anything til after new years...and yes - I am a new grad..just glad to be finally getting interviews..
Yay! That's great that you're getting interviews. I think you're right that you may not hear till after the New Year -- hopefully you'll be getting good news soon!
And OP, I hope you get good news soon too- hope you hear much faster than I did!

Wait for them to get back to you. Did they say what the timeline was for their decision?
I just made contact with the nurse recruiter about the timeline. She said they are still interviewing and encouraged me to look at other hospitals and "not put all your eggs in this hospitals basket."
I have nobody to be upset with except myself, and I must say I am really mad at myself for even going to this interview now. It cost me hundreds of dollars in flight/hotel expenses. I tried to get HR to conduct a phone interview, but she wouldn't do it, so I flew in for the interview. I guess I thought it would show how much I want the job and would put me at the top of the list. I have plenty of experience, a BSN, and I interviewed well. Lesson learned.
