  1. I received my nursing license Aug 2010, still unemployed. I have searched high and low in the Atlanta area, u name the hospital & I put in the application..nothing. However, once I started searching outside the metro Atlanta area...I have been getting calls recently, even from the VA (currently pending physical & background)..therefore you can possibly find a job, but forget finding one within Atlanta.. As far as Grady, I even went down to HR, introduced myself, was told they were hiring new nurses for med surg...still ain't heard nothing... Good luck however.
  2. I am currently in the pre-employment process. Yes, the paperwork is lengthy and if you get called in for an interview, be expected to complete more paperwork. Once you are done with the interview, if you are luck (and I hope you are) HR will call you in for the pre employment physical and background..my physical was deep (ekg and all) and I had to do fingerprinting on site. The next step - which took the longest is getting my online background done. This is the step I am currently at and I was told by the recruiter, this is the longest step. As for the transcripts, you will be asked to bring a copy (unofficial) however if HR calls you, be prepared to get the official sent directly to them and I am "assuming" it is only for the school you completed nursing. But I do know that the background will ask for information 5 years back. Also I had to supply 2 reference letters from my nursing professors and they had to be on school letterhead. Good luck...I think it will be worth it.
  3. MCKNIS...thank you sooooo much for sharing this with me, as a new nurse, still looking for employment, I will take this information on with me. thanks again...
  4. Please try local public health and VA...they do hire new grads..
  5. Good luck to all...week b4 last I had 3 seperate interviews with 3 companies, nothing yet, today I had an interview with VA...hopefully we will all get some very good news for the holidays. FYI - everyone should try their local public health departments (state job); also your state psych facility and the VA - they all hire new grads...just still waiting on my call - but I am really hoping for VA..
  6. @Noahsmamma...I had an interview last week with public health - they claim they will contact the candidate by xmas and today an interview with VA - both I felt went well...but sounds like I probably won't hear anything til after new years...and yes - I am a new grad..just glad to be finally getting interviews..
  7. FYI...try a hospital further out from where you live and also, try the VA...
  8. Try applying for VA...they are hiring new nurses
  9. I am a new grad - graduated may 2010. currently living in Georgia and no job...I have searched high and low, hospital, LTC, nursing homes, home health - you name it & I applied, even putting in CNA apps at some places. Nothing.. however I am employed by one home health, $32.00/hr - highest I understand in the ATL area, but you have to wait on clients. I have been luck to have 2 in the month 1/2 I have been there - recently they are picking up. Being patient, and accepting all cases so that I can get some experience. Had one interview for New Grad program, wasn't accepted. I know our time is coming and when one call - they all will start calling - don't give up.
  10. I had an issue with my identification for my test this past August. I called Pearson Vue and they told me exactly what I needed, therefore I would suggest that instead of guessing and cancelling unnecessarily, stressing urself - call.
  11. Wow...like someone said earlier, now you are just as guilty because you know - even though you truly did your job and you did it right. You really need to start looking else where because they - the company - does not have your best interest, not the patients best interest at heart. I hope this all works out for you, but please make sure you ask your God for some direction in this matter. You are in a tough situation and your license is on the line.
  12. trying to figure out where to send the email girl..send me one if you know how without me posting it on the thread.
  13. :lol2:Yes, Chi-town...how r u? Keep your head up girl, our call is coming. She said she was busy working on another project so she hasn't done ours yet, so no news is good news..we still have a chance.
  14. Good morning AKA, which state r u from, want to know if you were one of the ladies I was at the table with. Girl hope we get a call soon.
