You must have the same boss as me!! I got scheduled for the 3-11 on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. I don't have any big plans for New Year's Eve, but I am not a happy camper....I am a 7a-7p person. The day shift is always getting pulled to cover the evening shift on the holidays...
Merry Christmas......

I work tonight (the 24th) 6p to 6a and on top of having to work the holiday we are going to be staffed challenged for a few hours. Hopefully the night goes by fast and I'm able to get everything done on time so I can get home right away.

At work now (nightshift) and again christmas night. Going ok so far.
New year's off, but I'll probably be asleep by 2100hrs.

I am working now,7a-7p and same shift on christmas and new years eve and I am not happy at all. I would rather be home and I am getting tired of my coworkers telling me well look at the holiday pay you are making. I am not in it for the money. If they are then why are they not working the holidays?Ok you can tell that I am upset, thanks for letting me vent

On our unit, the manager schedules several of us on Christmas so we only have to come in for about 4 hours. I am working 1000 to 1400. Our manager is also taking a 4 hour shift. She usually has those who have small children come in later so they can spend Christmas morning with their kids. Pretty fair!

I'm working my first agency shift, 7a-7p. Wish me luck, as I have never been in acute ltc before. Ho Ho Ho.

I not only have to work 8pm (Christmas Eve) to 8am (Christmas day) but then I have to go home, sleep fast and be back to work 4pm to midnight. I think with my overtime check I will buy a new desktop and notebook computer. I am going over to my families house for a while this evening for work and have our traditional Christmas Eve feast and then go to work. I really don't mind anymore. Christmas is just another day to me.

If you could get 8 cats to pull a sled, it would be pretty funny though...Sorry just read your tagline. I imagine detox would be hopping on these days...
