Snow...snow and more snow!

Published

Is anyone in the northeast having fun shoveling your car out? It has been snowing since 11pm last night. Maybe got around 5-6 inches so far....and I have to go to work this evening!

Definitely NOT happy about the snow. Especially with the double-whammy two fronts moving in. All I can say is thank goodness I got home early enough today to get a parking spot on my street. People around here go crazy saving their spots with chairs and trashcans.

I've gotta work 7a-7p tomorrow and Sunday, and I'm freaking out! It's gonna be one heck of a long day tomorrow - shovelling before work and after work. And, since it's not a regular workday, I doubt even the highway will be clear by 6 am. And, I've got a little, compact car. I really hope I don't get in an accident. And, I hope I don't get stuck at the hospital for the weekend, like I did once years ago. I've been watching the TV news and my anxiety level has been climbing. Can you tell? ;-) I'm going to take a change of clothes, PJ's, and shower supplies, just in case. I hope we don't get stuck working really short-handed. Maybe we'll luck out and it will be slow this weekend. (Yeah, right.) I hate having to shovel my way into my driveway after a long workday, especially when I'm racing to do it before the plows pile snow around my car in the road. To make matters worse, I'm not as stocked-up, foodwise, as I should be. I did some shopping Thursday, but I was planning to hit another store's sale today, after the plumber came. Well, I spent all day waiting for him, and he ended up blowing me off. And now the roads are in bad condition. I'm sorry, I know I'm whining. I just need to vent. I don't think I'd be so worried if I hadn't been thru all the worst-case scenarios before, including the treacherous commute, the near-accident, etc.

Hey!! You guys are getting all our snow-give it back. Up here in the not-so-frozen tundra, the great state of MINNESOTA!! Last year IL got all of our snow. We got a little last night. At least we will have a some snow for Christmas. You girls can keep the sunshine-I'd gladly take a storm right now!!

Yeh... well I'll be out there in January !!! :D See my sis and my son... and Mom in Phoenix.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay !!!

But right now, expecting another 3-4 " of the white stuff tonight after the first 10" we got the other day...

as long as it's snow, not ice...yeeeeeps !!! :uhoh21:

I wish we would get a little of that white stuff here in Arkansas. We rarely do. Just occasional ice. I would love to have a white Christmas. I want to move somewhere where you get enough snow to get your fill and enjoy it, but not so much that you get sick of it. I lived one winter in upstate NY, and one winter just outside of Omaha, NE; both places were too cold and the winters too long for me. Where's the perfect place?

btw, you all in the cold snowstorms, be careful and stay warm!

Left work after 12hr shift to find frosty icy coat ontop of 2-3 inches of snow. I thought I'd might have problems as glancing out my window would see heavy thick flakes falling. Six more inches coming tomorrow.

Offered to take 18yo w new permit- driving in snow. "No" -- too cozy in best friends den with video games.

All you people in the warmer climates, Please don't rub it in. It makes us jealous and lustful. Not a good thing. It takes too much energy and is tiring.:o

Fran, I'd like a LITTLE of the white stuff! Will trade sunshine of So Cal for more of a balance: a little less for those saddled with snow, and a little more for me! In exchange, I'll send some sun and warmth their way!

Now, where's that magic wand????

Y'all drive safely and keep posting! :D
