I have gummies and granola bars. I also have access to a closet-full of free soda for lows. I have found juice from the school goes bad before I can use it in my office. Some students bring in their own stuff, too. A mom just dropped off chocolate covered granola bars and cheezit/cookies snack packs for one of my kids. I also have glucose tabs, glucose gel, and packets of sugar, too.
Parents are required to provide the snacks and juice for their diabetic child. I do have some back up juice incase they run out. I also have apple/orange juice, milk & dry cereal for those kids that forget to pack a snack or didn't have time to eat breakfast etc.
With the crazy breakfast/lunch government requirements alot food items get tossed out. I place a basket out in the cafe - kids will toss their unopened items in it instead of throwing in the trash and I use that food/juice/milk for my clinic.

That's a good idea. I'll have to try it.
I have asked one mom in particular a few times for snacks but she hasn't brought any in. I keep a personal stash that I let them go through also. This girl used to run anywhere from 40-400. So glad she's doing better now.

What type of snacks do you have for your kids with diabetes? In my office I have glucose tabs, milk, juice, water, poptarts, nutrigrain bars and (wheat) crackers. The poptarts are really for the kiddos that missed breakfast and come in with a "stomach ache because I'm hungry."
