I will be finishing my last pre req in the Spring of 2018, once I'm done I will apply to the nursing program (TCC). I've heard that the program usually has a lot of applicants and the space is very limited. Should I apply to other schools in the area?

hi futuretxnurse, curious...what city are you in?
im in san francisco and the nursing programs here are severely impacted and have been ever since 15 years ago when I was going to school for my undergrad.
Yes, definitely apply to as many schools as you can. good luck!!!
I'm in Mansfield (Texas) which is between Dallas and Ft Worth. I will be applying for a school in ft Worth.....but now I will be applying in Dallas, Denton and Corsicana. All are about 45 minutes to an hour away.

I'd say yes of course! It gives you a bigger chance of being accepted into a program. Just make sure that you check the other schools requirements because every school is different. For example, one school may require the teas, the other may require a Hesi 2A test, or one might require some classes, while the other requires some other different classes. Definitely look up their requirements and check their point system to see where you score best.
Thank you Joseizking,
I will get started on that today.

Online University | Online Degree Programs | WGU has a prelicensure program in Texas you might want to look at.

If you can, absolutely! It really stinks to find out you didn't get in somewhere and not have any back-ups, trust me.
How many programs did you apply to and how many were you accepted in to?
