Seminole State Spring 2012 Generic/Concurrent Applicant

Published

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else is on this website that is applying to the upcoming spring evening term for SSC and if so, what are your thoughts. Are you nervous? I am!

I didn't get into UCF. SSC alternate. I feel like a failed this. I worked so hard and had a great teas score and gpa.

I'm sorry. :( Don't give up. I didn't get in last semester, but I did this time. You're not completely out of the running either - you may still get in! Also, there was a student last semester who was listed as an alternate, but when she called the school to ask why, she found out that they were missing some paperwork that she had submitted, and she was able to get in.

Congratulations to everyone that got accepted. I have been accepted to both programs provisionally as well. I look forward to meeting you all very soon. I can't wait to begin this journey with all of you.

Dawniepoo... Never give up. You have the determination to be a great nurse.

I'm sorry to keep harping, but my recalculated gpa was 3.6 and I got 87.3 on my teas. I finished summer of 2010. Did anyone who was accepted get less than this? If so, I will find out if something else happened.

3.6, 78 teas v, summer 2011 (last concurrent prereq)...

What was your overall gpa? UCF looks at the overall gpa not a recalculated one like SSC. I finished my pre-reqs for SSC in the spring of 2010 and they look heavily at that. I applied in 2010 but was not accepted to SSC my letter stated that everyone who was accepted had finished their pre-reqs the spring of 2009.

Maybe you can call and see if they may have missed something. It couldn't hurt.

This is my first time posting, but have been reading the threads for a while. I just got my acceptance letters from SSC and UCF this evening, I am super stoked because I was expecting snail mail. Yay c/o 2014 :)))

I was expecting snail mail too. I was at work and completely caught off guard (and started crying at work, two separate times), especially since I was expecting at least 2 more weeks of waiting.

I haven't heard from Seminole yet, but I received an email from UCF stating that I did not meet the minimum requirements and was not accepted. I'm really not sure what I missed. Kinda bummed, but I have also been considering going the pre-med route. I already have a bachelors but I would probably need a second one in order to raise my gpa. I've decided to leave this in God's hands so I will no longer worry. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! To those who were not, I'm sorry and I hope you get in next time. You may also consider your options and see if there is something else that is right for you. Leave it in God's hands...He knows best, trust me!

I received my rejection e-mail from UCF on Friday night. 3.4 recalculated GPA, 86% TEAS, graduated from UCF last year with my Bachelor's in another field and finished my last pre-req Summer 2011. I saw some people say they heard from Seminole that they are an "alternate"- am I the only one who did not hear from Seminole at all?

I haven't heard from Seminole either. Did your email from UCF state why you were not admitted?

It just said "due to the strength of the applicant pool we are not able to offer you admission to the UCF/SSC Concurrent campus. For questions about this please contact the UCF Nursing Student Services...etc."

I checked my SCC Livemail and spam folders, still no word from them. I'm very confused. I plan to call tomorrow just to see what kind of explanation UCF will give me.

This is my first post to this thread - I was provisionally accepted too! Congratulations to everyone else and to those that weren't accepted - look at all your options (including reapplying) - it will work out.

For those of you enrolling in the UCF-SSC program - are any of you planning on working while going to school? If so part-time/full-time? Do you know current students who are working? I'm just trying to get a feel for what others are doing.

Thank you.:)
