  1. Sorry about my earlier post - I didn't realize that information had already been posted on the UCf seminar course. Does anyone know if we had a recent level II FDLE background check for a healthcare employer, if that would be sufficient for SSC/UCF?
  2. I think I found the UCF NUR3806 Professional Socialization Seminar. It only meets until 2/9 on thursdays from 3-5:50pm. But it's listed as a closed course, so I'm not totally sure.
  3. Clinicals are going to be scheduled for the weekends - is that right? Anyone know if that means Saturday AND Sunday? Any success in finding the Professional Socialization Seminar NUR 3806 schedule? UCF immunizations - When I was accepted to UCF (prior to being accepted to nursing school) UCF emailed this link for immunizations to me http://hs.sdes.ucf.edu/forms/hc/immunization_form.pdf
  4. Thank you for the course update Spanky13. I'm at the beginning of the "getting ready" process - lots to do. I was torn between SSC & Daytona State, but I have opted for SSC-UCF it's harder and more expensive but hopefully it's the right choice for me.
  5. It sounds like you have some great bosses! Thank you for all the information.
  6. For those of you working in a hospital setting are you cna's or patient care technicians? Do the hospitals work with a student schedule? Thank you.
  7. Thank you for the information Spanky13 - it's great to hear about what others are doing.
  8. Thank you for the info Red Carnation. That was very helpful. Yes I will be one of the "worn" students It's good to get an idea of what to expect from people who are going through it now, so thank you.
  9. This is my first post to this thread - I was provisionally accepted too! Congratulations to everyone else and to those that weren't accepted - look at all your options (including reapplying) - it will work out. For those of you enrolling in the UCF-SSC program - are any of you planning on working while going to school? If so part-time/full-time? Do you know current students who are working? I'm just trying to get a feel for what others are doing. Thank you.:)
  10. I just was provisionally accepted for the UCF-SSC concurrent program for Spring 2012! Yeah! Are any of you planning on working while going to school? Or for those of you already in the program - are you able to work? Thank you.
  11. Thank you for the support sandanrnstudent. I would think there are a fair number of folks with BA's in this situation, who would be interested in hearing others feedback: debating between an RN program or an RN/BSN program. It's a big decision of which type of program/path to undertake, so I'm trying to gather as much feedback from others as possible.
  12. Need help comparing RN-BSN track vs RN-MSN track. I will be applying to nursing programs this fall. I have an rn 4 semester program (42 credits total) and a rn/bsn program 7 semester program (72 credits total) in my area that I will be applying to. I think I have a good chance of getting into either of these programs. I am an older student, who already has a BA in an unrelated field. RN program: PROS - less stress/time commitment (I have to work through school and have teenagers). Less credits/less cost. I have a BA already so can continue with a RN-MSN program, once I have a nursing job, that would hopefully include tuition reimbursement to pay for MSN program. CONS - actually getting a nursing job with only an RN degree. RN/BSN program: PROS - more qualified/easier time getting a job as a new grad. CONS - more time/more stress. More cost (more credit hours). I live in the Central Florida area. I would appreciate anyone else's comments or experiences. I want to be well qualified for the job when I graduate and I need to be marketable for a job as a new graduate. Thank you.
