Hi all,
I didn't see any threads for Seattle University, so I thought I would start one. What classes are you taking, current GPA, extracurriculars, etc? Any thoughts on the application process?
I guess I will start by saying that I am currently finishing 2 prerequisites. Currently my overall GPA is 3.3 and pre-req GPA is a 3.9. I'm starting a CNA program, so hopefully that goes well. My overall GPA is low, so I am worried about that.
I am SO nervous just thinking about it!!
No last year I had not taken Micro or Nutrition even though that is not a requirement. How did u hear that people get in on thier second try? Is it a reliable source? I didnt have any volunteer service last year, however now i am working as a paid Nursing Assistant at a doctor's office... I am so nervous.. I just HATE the rejection it kills me!!!!
Hello everyone!
I applied to SU for fall 2012 as well, and I was just curious, does anybody know if there is a certain GPA that SU will accept people into their program with? I know that they will look at the applicant's grades and any other experiences, but I just wanted to know if they had a grade cut off as well.
Any help will be appreciated! :)
I believe the minimum GPA for the required pre-reqs was a 3.0 CUMULATIVE. I received a 2.2 in my Gen Chem course, but did WELL in the remaining classes. I am also counting on my experience in working with the areas under-served population in a high volume ER setting.
Now it just come to waiting for late march.... ho-hum....
JLoya, you are right about the pre-req GPA requirement, but I wanted to add that the minimum overall GPA (for all classes) is 2.75. I am also hoping that lots of work and volunteer experience will make a difference. Decision should be complete by mid March according to SU representatives, we don't have too much longer!
lovedogs31 how r u holding up? I am a nervous reck lol. No matter how many times i tell myself that it will be okay i still worry. I check my status every week and visit this site almost everyday. Arrrgggghhh!
I keep reading your's and LEKA RN's post and it gives me hope. Like she said, we need just that one opportunity to get our foot in and after that I believe we can be great students and nurses :):):).
Good luck.

Llexi88, I take it last year when you applied you hadn't yet taken micro? Im not sure how to gauge "chances" since I am new myself. However, I have heard that many people get in on their 2nd try. :) Also, did you have much volunteer experience when you applied last year? I am so incredibly nervous, and it has been really nice to have people (on this thread) to vent to! My boyfriend has had more than his share already!
