So, I got one of my nursing magazines in the mail, and I'm flipping through, and see them talking about these new Prada scrub tops that are $450!
So, after reading a little, I decide to go online and see what these are all about - if these scrub tops are laced with gold, or come with a gardener or a maid, or what kind of perk makes them worth that much money, and THIS is what I find....

Who in the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks needs an UGLY $450 scrub top?!?!
Sorry. Just a little moment of confusion, wanted to share. :D
I like Prada, and I regularly buy designer clothes and accessories. I wouldn't buy those.
*shiver*...reminds me of my dtr when she was 18/19, and the only thing she wanted for Christmas was a prada-anything.
i spotted a $525 prada handbag, new with tags, and got it for $100.
personally? i would have paid maybe $10 for it.
it was a black microfiber with leather trimming...with the $525 tag still attached.
well.
this designer bag, ripped parallel to the leather trim on top.
since it wasn't on a seam, i couldn't repair it.
from that point on, no designer-anything.
i've been sewing all my adult life, and recognize quality items/fabric.
this was a cheaply made bag.
so, just because it's designer, doesn't mean it's good or exc quality.
i've tried to encourage my children, to create their own style, and be confident in that.
prada, coach, d&b, chanel...whatever it is.
don't buy it unless you know it's well made.

WHAT a pleasure! I have now discovered that our green scrub tops - provided by the hospital - are now HIGH FASHION!!!! Yes indeed, that little green number (the top, not the somewhat off-color model) is identical to the ones I WEAR EVERY DAY!!!
Call me the Devil, guys, I WEAR PRADA!
Now all I need to do is find a suitably hideous shirt to wear underneath it....

I agree with that. FWIW, I would never wear or carry anything with a label you can see. Tacky, tacky, tacky. Someone had to go into my purse and get my car keys once and saw the label that was on the inside. She was stunned that I would spend a lot of money on a purse that everyone couldn't tell was couture. She said something like, "Mine didn't cost near this much and it even says Coach all over it!" I thought that was hilarious. I like quality you can see, labels you can NOT. I don't shop/dress, etc for other people. Other discriminating eyes like mine will know what it is, and it is our secret. I really don't care if other people do or not. I buy what *I* like.
