SCRIPPS New Graduate Nurse Program August 2011

Published

Hello, I wanted to start this thread for the Scripps Healthcare new graduate nurse position. The program was suppose to start August 12th 2011 from what I was told. Just wanted to start getting familiar with all of the people that applied and hopefully get some useful information going in this thread!:)

Halienh: Funny... I thought I heard tomorrow. Maybe I was too excited and heard incorrectly. Hopefully I am wrong; that way there's still hope for everyone here. As for the next step, I believe she said that she needs to run the background check and then we will get a call for drug test and physical/medical clearance.

I was external as well! I know she said that she would be sending us a letter hopefully by Saturday and that it would be the second of 2 emails... Guess we'll just wait and see. Did you hear anything about pay, start date, etc?

I am a BSN and she said pay is around $35 with another $4 something cents for nights. We are looking at a start date on August 1st and benefits starts after the first month. Also, we will be with the unit we interview with for the first 6 months and then we can volunteer to be rotated to other units as well as transfer to another hospital.

Heh heh... hopefully these details weren't fabricated in my head as I was suffering from shock.

Hey all! Just wondering, has anyone been hired by Mercy?? and specifically for the trauma unit? Thanks. And congrats to all those who have already received calls :)

Hi All,

I have been following silently for a while, too. I wanted to know if anyone got hired for Memorial PCU? If so, were you internal or external? Did you get to interview with the manager? He was called away just as I got called up and I'm afraid that hurt my chances. Congrats to all those that got calls.

Did you get to interview with anyone else then? Something similar happened to me and I thought that might have sealed my fate as well.

Hi,

I was hired for La Jolla PCU.

I think she said send her the background check info and look for an email next week (this week now) about the official offer. And yes Ny917, I think your info is correct on start dates and everything. She told me nothing official yet, but around the 1st and she'd be emailing us.

Congrats to everybody who got offers and I hope more are still being made!! PCU was my 1st choice (I'm internal float pool PCA currently) so I'm excited!!

I interviewed with the supervisor. I just don't know how much he was involved in the decision making....

Did anyone get hired in the Cardiac Unit at La Jolla? Congrats to all of you!!!!

I'm pretty sure the cardiac unit is 6th floor at La Jolla and that's where I got a job.
