SCRIPPS New Graduate Nurse Program August 2011

Published

Hello, I wanted to start this thread for the Scripps Healthcare new graduate nurse position. The program was suppose to start August 12th 2011 from what I was told. Just wanted to start getting familiar with all of the people that applied and hopefully get some useful information going in this thread!:)

@ lizardRN well where else is there to apply to rite now? Im going to do UCSD this month whenever it opens, but where else?

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

@Jusniko: Didn't UCSD just do a new grad program? I heard they ended up hiring internally.

Just applied to Torrance Versant (in LA) & Desert Versant (in Palm Springs) new grad programs, Highland Hospital (Oakland).....really wanted to stay in SD, but willing to go anywhere in Ca. Have u heard of any others?

The man that you interviewed with is Randy. I did my leadership rotation with him in the nursing program and he's awesome! However, because I wrote him down as a reference I didn't interview or get hired on his side (6E) which is his side of the floor. I interviewed with Megan on 6W.

I also interviewed with Randy. He was really nice. Did anyone get hired on 6E?

rejection letter...moving on...where else is there to apply?? Anyone??

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I'm so completely clueless now. Got the rejection email this morning.

For those of us that interviewed with Mercy Trauma... I've been silently following and wanted to add something.

I spoke to Toni a couple of days ago and found out that they only offered 2 positions for trauma. I have no idea how many were interviewed, and I am telling myself that the spots were probably filled by internal applicants. Knowing this made me feel a little bit better about not being offered a position even though it's another reminder of how hard new grad programs are to get!

I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and I hope everyone stays positive and finds something in the meantime...

Good luck to you all in finding a job and congrats to those who were hired!

Its definitely discouraging, but I also believe (or am trying to tell myself) that everything happens for a reason and it wasn't my time to work at Scripps.

Thanks for the great advice & support of everyone on this thread during this incredibly stressful time.

I'm sorry to anyone else who received the rejection email yesterday. I feel your pain and I know how upset I was when I read it, so you are not alone. Did they accept 62 people or only 40? I thought that part of the email was confusing. Definitely a huge disappointment. Congrats to those who were offered jobs. I hope you know just how lucky you are to have the opportunity.

Thanks for the post Foxtrotunicorns. I interviewed in Trauma as well and was super bummed ;o( Oh well, on to bigger and better things right? ;o) Good luck to you!! Keep the positive attitude!

P.S. I took NCLEX this morning...if everyone could please keep their fingers crossed for me?! :nurse::o:o:o

does anyone know whether they accepted 40 or 62?
