SCRIPPS New Graduate Nurse Program August 2011

Published

Hello, I wanted to start this thread for the Scripps Healthcare new graduate nurse position. The program was suppose to start August 12th 2011 from what I was told. Just wanted to start getting familiar with all of the people that applied and hopefully get some useful information going in this thread!:)

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

Based on the rejection email, it sounded like they offered 62 positions. Not positive tho.

does anyone know of any other new grad programs that we can apply to now? anywhere in CA or close to it??

has anyone who received a job offer get a call stating that your background check has gone through?

i got the call saying my background check was clear about 4 days after i got the call saying i got the job. has she called you to schedule you for pre employment paper work/physical?

You might want to check Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda. You can apply to any position that is a "Clinical Nurse B" position. They are not listed as new grad, but that is what they are. I know they are very short staffed. I just turned in my notice, because of a job offer I just got in oncology at UCSD and they were not happy I was leaving. You might even want to call HR and get some first had information. It was a great place to get my new grad program done, I've been there 8 months waiting for an opening down here. I applied to Scripps and didn't even get an interview. I also applied to UCSD and my application has said "open" for the past 2 months. Then last week I got a call, interviewed on Friday, and was offered a position on Monday. Good luck on your search.

Sharp in SD just opened their new grad program also...check out their website. Its due on the 24th. Good luck!

Specializes in Developmental Disabilities; Gerontology.

For the internal hires:

Have you gotten the offer letter yet through your corporate email acct? I still haven't gotten my email yet...all other internals I know got their email already. Was wondering if anyone was in the same boat as I am?

I received mine on Friday. Maybe email Toni?

She's out of office until August 8th..I called the next appointed person, Mandy, but only left a voice message. No word yet. Kinda worried  Hopefully my offer still stands

Hey Lizard, did you appy to Sharp?

Can someone explain what the new grad program schedule is like (i.e. 3 - 12hr shifts, days/nights) or is it varied? This question goes for any of the San Diego hospital new grad programs. Thanks.

I think schedule varies from program to program. Scripps (as far as I know, haven't started yet) has 1 week of just orientation (classes, learning the computer) which is 8am-4pm. After that I think every Monday for 2 months you go to a class which is probably about 8 hours and you work 2 12 hour shifts per week with a preceptor. Your schedule will depend on your preceptor. Again, I think this varies from place to place though.
