Scripps Healthcare New Grad Residency Program 2011, has anyone received a interview invitation?
Jojo- I interviewed on Monday night. Apparently, there are two current RN's on that unit who are transferring to ICU and ER by the program start date so there will be two openings. I just haven't heard of anyone who's heard anything about that unit offering positions, though. I like your theory that they need extra time, though. Good luck to us both!
Thanks Danni, you to! It would be awesome to get into Scripps, but if it not, there should be other opportunities out there. I'm actually gonna start next week at a subacute rehab on an part-time/ on call basis in the bay area. Yeah, totally opposite parts of cali, but it would be a good way to get some experience while I wait to get into a new grad program. Just sucks, I gotta move my family up there from OC.
Thanks for the heads up on the two "possible" openings. That's one thing I forgot to ask during the interview. I really hope we are the 2 that get the spots! At least I'll kinda know someone already. The projected 55 total positions, is a positive.
Hey, I also wanted to inquire about 7 West for La Jolla. That was the only unit I was able to interview with so it's my only hope for a job at scripps. That would really suck if they didn't even hire anyone, but maybe if its only projected, it will take a little longer to make the decision. @ Danni, what day did you interview on. I had Wednesday with Lydia Smith. She was one of the supervisors on the unit.
They do have positions. I was offered a position on that unit but declined it for another unit at Scripps La Jolla. Nonetheless, I would have loved to work on that unit because the manager is awesome! She is very friendly, highly energetic, and very intelligent; and the unit itself, would have been awesome.
Oh, Christina, you are so optimistic. I was assuming they wouldn't call on a Sunday, but I suppose we've been surprised before: when they sent emails on Saturday at 10:30pm to invite us to interviews!
I'm sending out so many good thoughts it hurts... it hurts so good.
I'm filling out more apps today as if that will somehow send out energy to the Cosmos that says "Oh, I'm not desperately waiting and hoping for Scripps as if my life depended on it; whatevs..." Yes, I am at the point of trying cosmic reverse psychology....
On another note: anyone with an offer have a more concrete idea of the starting salary? I'm assuming it's the same for all units/hospitals - if not, I understand your not wanting to share.
Going off of SarahLT's post above, I've been looking for other jobs as well. (Not being pessimistic but don't want to miss out on anything else just in case.) Does anyone know of any other new graduate programs with open applications in CA? Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything open up lately.
Thanks in advance and, as always, continued prayers and positive thoughts to those of us waiting.
placentia linda, has some new grad positions open. You got to write a 2-4 page essay for it. I was gonna apply for it but got lazy.
Yeah, I'm doing the same... Starting to apply for other positions. I'm starting to get bummed about the interview process for Scripps... It seems that some got a chance at multiple interviews, and other likes me got just one. I even had multiple portfolios ready to hand out, and didn't realize I only had one interview until one of the other candidates suggested I check. It sucks because now that we know there was 65 offers, and didn't have a fair chance to compete for them. I guess with all things, a little bit of luck has to come into play.
