I am working a 2 week summer gig, but it is as the technical director of a middle school theater camp, which is very non-nursing. Well, kinda - I do end up using a lot of the communication skills I use as a school nurse :).
I like that school nursing gives me a chance to take a little break to indulge my other passion.
Kids were out since June 6. I was supposed to go another day to coincide with the teacher's days but my son got appendicitis and I didn't go back. He's fine. I'll probably go in during the summer to clean up some last minute stuff I didn't get to but I'm super happy to be off work. I know this break will go by fast - we have to be back by mid-August. That messes things up for most folks in this community who have kids in 4-H and the fair is Labor Day weekend.
This will be my last year though. Not going back for my credential. You can only work 5 years with a temporary credential.
And I'll be doing cartwheels then.
