I came in this morning to 3 kids on crutches.

Flu is juuuuuuussssst starting to hit.

How is your 2018 starting off?

1 kid on crutches with a fracture and an angry parent that I couldn't just give her son motrin...sorry need a script...

2 kids vomiting...and we weren't even 45 minutes into the first day back!

At least they both made it to the trashcan and not on the carpet that some idiot thought would be brilliant to put in the nurses health room

Dreading flu season--last year I was conveniently on maternity leave from Christmas break until the end of March.

We just have PD today so students not back until tomorrow, but Thursday we are expecting a snowstorm which I am not happy about...

OMG, I thought I was the only one with carpet in the clinic. I fight it every year asking to have it removed, and I lose every year. Where were their heads when they made this decision?

No kids today - they come back tomorrow. PD day here also but nothing was scheduled for the nurses - only instructed to "work in clinic" - so I am sitting in my office scrolling thru All Nurses right now, will make my Walmart pick up grocery order, pay a few bills, flip thru a magazine or two, go out to lunch with the office ladies and maybe catch up on some reading - long day ahead.

Yup, same #$&* different year! Parents not answering their phone, kids coming to school sick (though we have 100 kids absent today!), and kids begging to go home because they are "sick".

The good thing: indoor recess (so I wont have my usual 25 kids with asthma attacks all at once) as it is 1 degree outside, and HOPING for a snow day on Thursday!!!

Otherwise.....WELCOME back to the jungle!

Right?! Do you know how many kids have wet their pants or vomited on this floor...and then I'll have kids who come into my office and roll around on my floor just playing around...I'm like you do know youre rolling in old pee and puke right? That gets them up real fast haha

Do you live in MA? We're expecting a snowstorm as well. I'm hoping for a snow day! Yes, even after the holiday break I'm ready for a day off lol

It's starting off good. Nothing major happening today. Half of the student body isn't here due to the cold and parents choosing to keep them home. I live in MA so the temps are in the single digits :( Just been resuming the work I started before the holiday break. Making sure each grade level is in compliance with immunizations and working on the remainder of the health screenings I have left.

I'm back with a faint smile in place, able to feed, dress, and toilet myself so ya can't ask for much more than that; optimistically hopeful for this "spankin" new year and hope it's a good one for you and yours!

Whoa I haven't been here in forever! But these kids are already annoying me with their fake illnesses lol. And I just had a kid call home because of a stomachache/general abd pain. Mom came to pick her up and asked if we could call an ambulance for her so she could be seen quicker at the hospital. Lord give me patience.

2 hour late start for C.O.L.D. weather! I think I can handle that! :)
