Santa Monica Waitlist

Anyone heard any updates about the SMC waitlist time? I was accepted as of Oct 2010, and told 2-3 semesters, and it says this on the website. Is it realistic to expect to start Fall 2011?

Also - I have seen some people mention their waitlist number, but I have not been able to get this info from the counselors. Any advice?

I think your poster is on the wrong place. You need to go to pre-nursing dissicusion topic under students. maybe you are at the right place, but i have seen many responses related to your topic under pre-nursing dissicussion forum.

I also attending the meeting in October but still havent heard anything. I emailed Valencia Rayford but she hasnt emailed me back and it's been 2 weeks. I'll be calling soon so I'll let you know if I hear anything. I know you posted this in Feb, so have you heard anything since then?

do you apply to the waiting list after you complete all the pre-req's?

I had all my prereqs done when I went to the appointment last fall. The only things not done are the calculations and pharmacy class. What did you have finished? Have you heard anything?

No, i doing my pre-reqs at long beach city college right now , and was looking into santa monica bc i heard they have a good nursing program. i have anatomy and physilogy and chem done and i have micro and chem 2 to do.

the waitlist is pretty much what they say it is on the brochure...around 3 semesters, not including the semester you applied on. they will send you an email to take the pax rn test 2 months prior your schedule date. After passing the test, (well atleast for me....) you receive an email within a week, to let you know if you want to attend the orientation for admissions...(I guess this is their way of letting you know "your in"? ) Anyways, Im gonna attend the orientation on Dec, 2 2011 and keep you posted on what happens...I guess theres also a chance that I might be an alternate...

Hi I just got an email about a week ago inviting me to take the NLN. They said they are mailing out invitations early Feb. I also applied March 2011. If we pass the test does it mean we're in?

what date on march did you apply? Its strange :) coz valencia emailed me yesterday saying that they hadnt sent out the invites yet. However you had the invite week ago??!?! Good luck to you tho.

I think after passing the test, they will call you. It also depends on your postion on the list. You might be an alternate if havin low position.

I don't know the exact date but I believe it was early March... I haven't received the actual invitations in the mail yet, just the email notifying me that I will be receiving it in Feb.

I thought we're supposed to hear sometime in May? I applied October 2010 and I'm still waiting. I took the NLN October 2011 because I was in the top 200, but didn't make the cut, so I can only assume I will be hearing from them soon...
