San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2011

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2011 SJC applicants to the ADN Program. I am eagerly awaiting the application period. Have any of you applied to other schools nearby?

I had **** for AP1 and LOVED him. I just liked his personality. He was, what I thought, an easy A but he did care about helping and wanted his students to actually learn the marterial. I had ***** for AP2 and also loved him. Totally different teaching method which threw me off at first. ***** is more clinical but is hard to follow sometimes. ***** powerpoints went along with the book which made it way easier to study which could be the reason I liked his class better and didnt have to work as hard. I am taking micro this summer with ****** so we'll see how it goes. Got an A in AP2 with him so Im sure i can pull another one. I sure do wish ***** taught it though...I just like his way of teaching.

Im kind of worried about not having micro finished when they look at apps...its the only thing I can see that would keep me from getting in

I took ***** for anatomy 1 &2 and Micro....his classes fill up super fast for a reason! He is an awesome professor!!!

I got A's in all three....he has awesome pre-done notes and gives really good reviews. They are not easy classes but he teaches it well.

I heard ***** was an amazing teaching! Haven't heard of the other one though. Good luck taking micro this summer, I was ready to apply to nursing school last semester but didn't because I had 2 sciences in progress at the time, I wish I would have however because I heard of a few others with 2 classes in progress (needed to apply) who got in regardless. Short story, I think if your grades are all good then you will be ok! Good luck though I'm sure you'll be fine!

I guess I am a little biased since he was the only teacher I had for all 3...but ****** IS an AMAZING teacher!!! If you know of anyone getting ready to do those classes, I HIGHLY recommend him....just make sure to get registered the moment registration opens up...Otherwise its a no go! His Micro class I took was full within an hour or so of the registration opening!!!

I think me having **** first and then ***** just threw me off at first but once I got the hang of his teaching style and tests I was fine. We stayed up to register for this summer micro and logged in at midnight...it was closed before 4 am! I'm actually really looking forward to seeing him...he really makes you feel like your one of his children and wants you to succeed.

I'm so glad to hear that others have gotten in with classes in progress. My plan was to apply in the spring 2012 but when I found out I could apply with one in progress I went ahead and tried for this semester.

To txstudentnurs: it never hurts to try, I wish I would have! especially with all the rumors of taking lower hesi scores!

I have a friend taking ***** for a summer micro class so she can switch to hbu in the fall, she also signed up at midnight. ***** classes were like that as well, the first day of class we had students standing outside hoping that someone would drop and they'd get their place. Good teachers make all the differance (although I thought he was a little moody and failed to show up to lab at times!)

Only a few more days in june hopefully they are finishing up all the apps this week so decisions can be made sometime next week? Just a thought ...

Yes but when June ends then we start all over with July lol

does anyone know what date the orientation would be? I think last fall it was July 30th

I know how all of you feel. I am graduating this semester, but when I applied back in 09, it took them forever to reply to all of us. I wish all of you the best of luck, and if you ever need advice, don't hesitate to ask.

well...we've made it to July!!!!

  2. While this site is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. Gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. Please do not give out personal information about others. Do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.
