San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2011

Just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2011 SJC applicants to the ADN Program. I am eagerly awaiting the application period. Have any of you applied to other schools nearby?

seems they may have revised their system of sending confirmation emails..have you heard of anyone getting a rejection letter yet?

early to mid-july...dang, this wait is killing me! i try not to think about it, but it's sooo hard not too! I'm pretty sure they're gonna send out acceptance emails before they start sending out rejections... at least I would think that's the case. Does anyone know which date the program usually starts for fall session?

one thing i know for sure is I wish San Jac would stop sending out emails about stupid stuff! Every time i get one I think my heart stops! lol

lol I know every time I see a san jacinto email my heart skips a beat too, and its always bookstore or other news. Waiting is starting to get to me, I just would like to start my planning one way or the other :)! I've always been the planning type. My son is registered for 2 different schools because I don't know what my schedule will be like yet.

ok let me just make your weekend a little less stressful :D i called the nursing dept today to see if they send out confirmation emails when they receive our apps. I was told that they do NOT and that they still do not have all of the apps bc enrollment services is still processing them but should be done by the end of next week. The nursing dept has not even started looking at the apps yet! BUT the best news is when she estimated 500 apps before the deadline she was basing that on the amount of people scheduling to take the HESI. Apparently, either a lot of those people didnt pass or were playing ahead for next semester because she said they only had a little more than 200 applicants so the competition would not be quite as high as we were expecting. She is expecting emails to start going out early-mid July. SO...hopefully these eases the stress a little HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

I just don't know if I believe they haven't started looking at apps yet if that was true then why would they request my trancripts be sent to the nursing department back in may?that was before the deadline to turn them in! I'm hoping that some news will start to go out by next week sometime maybe around july 4th holiday? If they really only had around 200 apps then maybe they can get them procesed sooner! I think we all need a little break from the stress :) maybe we should all treat ourselves, after all getting in is the easy part. Good luck guys

well...im sure enrollment services is extremely busy with new enrollments, going through other apps for other programs and having to pull all the transcripts for all the apps and making sure they are complete. Im sure that is whats taking so long and the nursign dept probably wants to wait until they have them all to get started. She looked mine up and the nursing dept hadnt even received mine but said they werent going in any order so there is no telling when it will get over there. we'll see come next week if emails start going out...i just wish this week would go by faster!!!

Does anyone know how many apps they're taking this time?? and dang only 200 applicants ....from 500?? wonder what that means??? are the teachers really that bad???? ugh, let me stop!

from what the lady in the nursing dept said they are taking 120...not sure what the low applicants means..lol trying not to look into it too much. who knows if its even true...sometimes i wonder if they dont just throw numbers out there to stress us out more!

i have checked this morning and i dont see where my transcripts have been pulled...anyone else not see their transcripts being pulled?

ok so i couldnt wait and i call enrollment services to make sure mine wasnt "lost or misplaced" :D and they said there is one person who processes all of the the apps and it does take them awhile but she said mine is there in her stack....UGH! so im guessing if your transcripts havent been pulled then your app is still in the stack too.

OK so to try and forget all of this waiting for the time being lets talk about our A & P and Micro professors so far ... who did you have, and who was you're favorite or least favorite among them?

I used 2 different ones: **** for both a&p 1 and 2 and ***** for Micro (A's in all three)

out of the 2 choices I would opt to have **** anytime over ****. **** grades are great, and if that is all you are taking into consideration he would win (because ***** doesn't care about his averages.) I believed that *** cared more about his students long term success, and was more willing to help when it was needed (but more work for sure!)

Just curious, and wanting to think about anything other than acceptance letters, and this is something we all have in common.
