San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

Lol, They wont answer the phone. But...If I was them I would not answer either... Just imagine...500 or more anxiouls people constantly calling, the phone constantly ringing...

I was thinking the same thing. Ah well, leaves more time to study Mr./Mrs. Kitty : D

AHHHH!!! That dang Cat makes my head hurt!!!

Now to clear up the mysterious email drama...Lol... Here goes:

I was told that the emails are going out as the applications are being picked up from enrollment services,

There are a whole lot of them. More emails went out today (I got mine :) ) I was also told that there are about 150 more that have to be sent out.The person inputing the information in the ADN office said NOT to worry at all. These confirmation emails were more for her benefit, to ensure that email addresses were correct, so they are not she can try to pull up a student email address. She said that we all should know something by mid July. I am so happy that all this is cleared up... Now i can actually focus on learning cat muscles:) Lol.

Well that's some good information there. Good job!

Although it is slightly distressing that we'll know by mid-July. I suck at waiting. I failed waiting in school.

Same here, But hey at least we have class to keep us busy:)

I applied to College of The Mainland and was placed on the alternate list so I'm hoping I will have better luck with San Jac. Does anyone know if the meeting was mandatory this year because I called and said I would be out of town and the woman I spoke with said that the information session was not mandatory and was just for our benefit. I also didn't see anything on the application process saying it was mandatory...just getting nervous about that, if I don't get in I wouldn't want it to be over a meeting.

I'm about 95% sure it was not mandatory. So fear not! Hopefully you'll have some good luck up here at San Jac.

Good luck to ya.

Thanks that makes me feel a lot better. I've been seeing that people are saying that the gpa is based off one of the A & P's but I thought it was any of the sciences including micro. I only made B's in my Anatomy's but a A in micro. This is frustrating, but I'm also applying to some BSN schools as well. Good luck to all!!!

I was told that they're going to look at all 3 classes together (all 3 classes obviously being A&P 1 and 2 and Micro). About who they choose depends on the people who are applying. Some years they're only taking people with 3.7 GPA's and up, other years they're taking what they can get.

I think you did the right thing by applying to other schools though.

From what I understood at the information session was that they would take your best grade from each category and work with that, and that they also consider the overall GPA. Are you sure that they use all 3 sciences?

Well, the fact that they require you to have those 3 sciences done before you can take a nursing class leads me to believe that. And it also makes sense to look at those pretty seriously as well, considering that the sciences are going to mean more to what you'll learn from the nursing classes rather than the english or math class.

And I was told by one of the counselors. Obviously information might be different from person to person :D

What did you all think about the cat pracitical? I thought I saw 2 palmaris "longi" and 2 rectus "femori". Hopefully I didn't miss more than 5.
